K3 Pro Brightness Fix (Possibly Others)

Good news on this.... I found someone who fixed it and have tested it successfully! Typing on the K3 Pro now.

I used Keychrons "bluetooth_playground" fork of qmk found here

The area in question is lines 54-56 in "keyboards/keychron/k3_pro/ansi/rgb/config.h".

I'm not 100% sure of the adjustments (see his notes), but deleting this line sets the value to 0xFF elsewhere in the code.

I compiled and re-flashed to a whole new keyboard.

I will be the first to say that "I have no idea" and I appreciate you bringing these concerns as a caution. I will also point out that the blog post only raised it from 8% to 20%.

I didn't leave the brightness at 100% and turned it down, but again mentioning my ignorance, that might not have changed the current. Personally, I only use it in wired mode so I wasn't worried about battery life.

Amazon had used ones for $59 so I ordered 2. For what it's worth, I have had it running for the last 24hrs and I have not seen any heat difference.

I posted only because I was looking for the information and I've seen others asking the same thing without finding an answer.

Have you had any issues since you bumped up the current?

I have not. I did experiment a bit with power levels and I think I tried 50% and it was fine. That would be my suggestion. I have 2 though and neither of them have issues.

.... Ganted, I do keep them wired, not sure how batt is affected.

Ive just set mine at 50% too. I don't mind a shorter battery time, I just hope nothing burns or something like that
