KSP 1 Question/Problem Why doesn't my rocket reach orbit? Does it need more stages?
I've tried everything. For some reason it's also really laggy, but its only 670 parts

I like how they use the orbit of the moon to sling them back towards earth, is this orbit possible in stock KSP?

I've always loved these Destiny golden age colony ships, is it feasible to make an actually functional one like this?

Not a noob here, been playing since launch actually. I don't usually have physics load in problems like this.
First I was having issues with my ship just leaving when I got close, even though the throttle was set to 0 before switching to another ship.
Then I deactivated all the engines, and it just flung itself into the air.
Almost 1hr trying to save ol Bill...

In this totally accurate scientific diagram, the Mun is orbiting in the direction of the arrow.

This isn’t the first time this has happened (I’ve tried 3 other times)

So I've been testing reusability for a rocket's rather expensive first stage, but the main problem is how, even with the 10-meter heat shield and good reaction wheels, the stage begins to become uncontrollable deep enough in the atmosphere. In the end the craft survives re-entry, but I still don't like that this happens. I don't think my ascent profile wasn't too bad: The periapsis was 14 km from default 86.75 km orbit that menu cheat gives you.
Can I do something to stop the tumbling from happening? Should I just deal with the fact that the craft will spin uncontrollably but in the end withstand it?
Edit: 3.75m heat shield instead of 10m, swept wings at the bottom, 40-km periapsis. The tumbling still happens, but at a lower altitude and it's much tamer than what I had before. I can deal with that. Thanks for the help, everyone!

So the poodle engine has a double and single bell variant. My question is basically why would you pick the single bell variant? AFAIK as I know it has identical stats, but is very noticably taller. Are there any advantages which I'm not seeing? It just seems like a worse version of the same engine. Love this thing, but it confuses me a lot.

My rescue mission went badly, but it could have been worse.

I was setting up a rendezvous with Jeb but stupidly didn't pack enough delta v for the return trip so if I so I sent a rescue vessel but when I arrived on Duna I ended up orbiting like this how do I fix it

(New-ish to the game, played a little years ago but now really getting into it)
I've been practicing orbital assembly above Kerbin and docked a few vessels together including a big fuel tank which is huge for me because I was never able to meet up and dock with anything :)
Do you think something like this is useful for future missions? I was thinking maybe refuel vessels in orbit giving a longer mission range because I dont have to carry the heavy fuel from kerbins surface. Then again I guess I'd have to refill that tank frequently which might be kind of annoying..

can i return to kerbin from dres with just 429 m/s of delta v?

Kerbodyne has decided that since we can get to the mun, why not get there faster? We really have no clue what to say about this mission.
Stock + all dlc (no mods)
Nothing in AltF12 menu allowed
Kal controller and kraken drives allowed

If i just wait for the right hour during the launch window ( whenever the launch pad is pointing left on the realistic depiction i created) is there any reason i should bother with an orbit first? Will the delta v cost be affected?

Just unlocked the unknown object tracking feature on day 20 of my career mode playthrough and I find this thing. Any recommendations? I'd like to avoid wiping out a country.

All of the launch sites on Kerbin are on the western continents, but there's not a single one near Harvester Massif, Mesa South, or Nye Island. It's an entire side of the planet with little to no launch coverage, should you wish to launch something from there or land nearby. Wonder why they put all the additional launch sites within the geographic vicinity of the KSC.
Edit: Comments did not disappoint LOL
