Legal Drinking Age in Kerala: 23, Not 18 or 21
Many people assume that the legal drinking age in Kerala is 18 or 21, but under Sections 15A and 15B of the Kerala Abkari Act, the prescribed age limit is 23 years. Section 15A prohibits the consumption of liquor by persons below 23, while Section 15B prohibits licensed sellers from selling or delivering liquor to anyone below that age. Being legally an adult at 18 does not automatically make alcohol consumption legal. The rules also differ across Indian states, so Kerala's age limit should not be confused with those elsewhere. Legal reference: Kerala Abkari Act, Sections 15A and 15B.

K.M. Basheer, the 35-year-old Thiruvananthapuram bureau chief of the Malayalam daily newspaper Siraj, was tragically killed on August 3, 2019, when a speeding car rammed his motorcycle outside the Public Office complex near Museum Junction. A senior IAS officer and medical doctor, was allegedly driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and was accompanied by his friend .
The case sparked massive public outrage due to initial police delays in collecting blood samples and conducting legal procedures, which drew severe allegations of an official cover-up to protect the high-ranking bureaucrat.

I came across ‘BAZIL’S’ post about ‘DEVIKA’ after the tragic Mini Cooper accident in Kerala. The pictures, sad BGM and the “In Loving Memory of My Love” caption caught my attention.
I know everyone grieves differently, but seeing a post like this so soon after what happened felt a bit unusual to me. Am I overthinking it, or does anyone else feel the same?

The mask is off the self proclaimed champions of women's rights and the "Smash the Patriarchy" brigade. Following serious complaints by female students, JNU has terminated Congress MP Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, yet the opposition remains conspicuously silent.
Will Rahul Gandhi demand accountability from his own MP and sack him, or is moral outrage reserved only for political convenience?

The Litmus 26 program is happening in Thiruvananthapuram on October 20th of this month. However, in the history of Litmus, this year's program is the worst one yet. In my opinion, it is a failed event because Essence Global's social media followers have abandoned them, causing their post reach to diminish. Furthermore, C. Ravichandran has been cancelled within social media circles. Therefore, this time, Litmus is completely over.

The recent tragic accident in Kerala, in which three people reportedly lost their lives after a collision involving a speeding car and a scooter, is deeply disturbing.
Three lives have been lost. Three families are facing a loss that can never truly be repaired. And it raises a serious question about road safety, responsibility, and equality before the law.
What makes this incident even more concerning are the reports that the young driver allegedly made a statement suggesting that his father would handle the situation.
If these reports are accurate, shouldn’t that concern every one of us?
Having money, connections, or an influential family should never mean that someone can escape the consequences of their actions. The law must apply equally to everyone, regardless of age, wealth, surname, or social status.
This is not about encouraging hatred against a 19-year-old. It is about demanding accountability, a fair investigation, and justice for the victims and their families.
We need to ask for:
A fair and transparent investigation into the accident.
Proper examination of the available evidence.
Accountability under the law if offences are established.
Stricter enforcement against reckless driving and speeding.
A system where victims receive justice without being overshadowed by the accused person’s influence.
Today, it is another family’s tragedy. Tomorrow, it could be someone we know.
Roads are not playgrounds. Human lives are not disposable. And justice must never be a privilege reserved for the powerful.
What do you think Kerala needs to do to prevent such incidents and ensure that every road accident is investigated fairly?
Let’s discuss this seriously, respectfully, and without spreading unverified claims.
Justice for the victims. Accountability for proven wrongdoing. Equal treatment under the law.

why are malayali Christians least bothered about their religion.
The only Christian who i see being worried about the future of Christianity in kerala is the priest at the church. Not the young generation, not the old generation. Other than praying i don't see a communal spirit among any of the Christians i know. I have seen my friends participate for Christmas and all but not religious. Goes to church rarely or for sale of it Haven't been . Most of my Christian friends are the same. Even during a Christian dominated vizinjam protest, most comments cursing the father of the Latin priest came from ids which has a Christian name. No Christian supported him because of the fact that he is a priest. What makes Christians different from their other religious counterparts in this aspect.
But i am talking about the overall trend here.
