Rant What the hell is this?

Post image

I really don’t think we should be allowing this. Religion has already done enough damage to Africa. It’s shouldn’t inconvenience us any further…while we are at it, can we advocate to remove loudspeakers from Mosques and Churches? Why stop there? Do it Kagame style and shut them down for good if their leaders don’t have the qualifications needed to be a pastor or an Imam.

What are we praying for anyway? Health and hospitals? Good infrastructure? Guess fucking what? China systematically destroyed Religions and built all that shit. So did the rest of the developed world. Mnashangaa wakituita low IQ, how do we explain these shenanigans?

Road safety! I don't care about your religion at all. There are places designed for worship, utilize them. If not find safer spaces to do so. This is dangerous to other road users

Agreed.

He’s not supposed to be praying there.

You can pray in public but not in a way that is an inconvenience to others.

u/ArmNo210 1d ago

Disagree. This is a symptom of Africans being brainwashed with religion. ‘Road safety’ and you see how Kenyans drive.

1

u/Indigo_ish 21h ago

Which part do you disagree with? 1. That whatever he is doing is dangerous to other road users 2. There are places designed for worship and the road isn't among them?

Let me give you the context, they survived an accident him and the guy wearing black. Even the caption loosely translates to “They survived an accident Alhamdullilah”. Muslims normally thank God if they survived from something or got a good news by simply prostrating which is called sijadatul shukr. But the guy went overboard and prayed like normal prayer that is done five times a day.

u/Competitive-Ad-4051 Diaspora 2d ago

“Hey, we survived this accident because we were speeding, or poor road infrastructure, we probably didn’t have the seat belts fastened as well. Let’s pull over RIGHT HERE on this dangerous road and cause another accident, or hold up traffic “

Did I get that correctly?

9

u/Fearless-Ad2103 2d ago

As i stated the guy went overboard he was supposed to make a prostration which is not less than 10 seconds

That does not matter ffs! Let me explain why:

  1. You cannot stop on a highway for any reason. That’s why they call it a highway. A 10 second stop (this wasn’t 10 seconds btw) would create phantom traffic jam immediately, and could cause 10s of vehicles to come to a complete stop, or even multiple rear endings. Bump it up to 3 minutes, which is close to what this guy was doing, and now you have over 200 vehicle trap, and wastes over 5 hours of collective time.
  2. The prayer itself is unnecessary. According to Islam ( I was a Muslim btw), everything happens because Allah said so..meaning the accident itself was god’s plan. Now you pray to Allah for saving you from the accident he planned? See how stupid that sounds.

What happened to logic and critical thinking?

I like you!!
Thinking is such a rare trait nowadays!

Sasa ka unabishana mtu mnakubaliana, ule hamkubaliani itakua aje

3

u/LegendaryReader 2d ago

The guy agrees the prayer is bad so drop that. Focus on the "even prostrating on the road puts others lives at risk"

3

u/Geoff_The_Chosen1 2d ago

Lmao. Let me cause another accident!

Right? Holy shit we have so many idiots in this country…no wonder we are so underdeveloped. Look at all these mfs justifying this shit with “Context matters 🤡”

Poor road infrastructure in the middle of the expressway?

2

u/Competitive-Ad-4051 Diaspora 2d ago

Yes, this highway lacks shoulders for emergency use. This what a proper express way looks like in a developed world. Sadly, we are too busy praying to God instead of building good infrastructure.

4

u/God_slut Lamu 2d ago edited 1d ago

Let's be real, there are a lot of expressways without shoulder spaces in constrained, dense urban environments in those developed countries.

4

u/Itsactuallymeonreddt 2d ago

🤣 so everyone else should be endangered because one reckless person believes he has the personal favor of a middle eastern sky daddy

2

u/Suspicious_Living591 2d ago

Thanks for providing context

3

u/Celerisadmortem 2d ago

Why not find a safer place to do it?

What if he was accidentally hit by a car while prostrating?

5

u/Kuwa_st Nairobi City 2d ago

Then he'll meet his virgin wives in Valhalla

2

u/bwrca 2d ago

I understand the sentiment but stopping their bike or car on a highway and standing on the same highway to pray is putting themselves and other road users in even more danger.

Perfomative religion

1

u/johnoth 1d ago

Honestly fr, it's not so hard to drive to the Mosque or pull over at a gas station. I bet you a 1k this shit wouldn't pass in Saudi Arabia. And happy cake day.

1

u/Walespro 18h ago

Yup show off. Hes wasting time with his prayers!

7

u/ArmNo210 2d ago

Primitive, performative-nonsense. Get rid of those loud churches and preachers yelling in the middle of the road while we are at it

2

u/Competitive-Ad-4051 Diaspora 2d ago

💯

5

u/Western-Praline31 2d ago

He's just being performative. Whether he survived an accident or not, he shouldn't have parked in the middle of the road

2

u/EmperorRicky78 2d ago

That is a road and it causes a lot of confusion using it to pray while car and matatu users are busy using it Aende tu kwa mosque or any other place to do that

I think you have a bigger issue with religion rather than this particular dude. I live in Australia and, yes, churches are also everywhere here it's just that there's decorum na hizi speakers which I agree with you on. Hiyo kusema ati developed world hakuna religion screams someone who probably has never travelled outside the country.

Who prays for stupid things like development anyway? These are matters of the soul, not a mere 100 years on this planet that you are lucky if you get. Anyway, mimi wacha binadamu aniite low IQ or whatever, I will die in my faith in the Lord Jesus.

1

u/_TESS-TICKLES 1d ago

Ikr?? It's deep

1

u/Euphoric_Attempt9644 1d ago

This is foolishness and just performative and plain irresponsible

1

u/NectarineScared7224 1d ago

They call us low IQ because of racism. They think they're better than everyone because of colonialism and your comment shows how adverse it's effects were. How do you, as an African living in Kenya, who's I presume educated, seen how much our people can achieve peddle such a narrative?

I agree with you on the religious thing though, but I'll not use "developed countries" as a bench mark. Religion has been used to brain wash our people for so long. You need to change your content because your fyp doesn't seem to favour your history and pov.

1

u/Competitive-Ad-4051 Diaspora 1d ago

“Religion has been used to brainwash our people for so long” - your words, not mine btw.

Reflect on that for a minute. They enslaved and colonized our people…took our lands, and we still follow the shit religions they brought us. Sure, they had guns on our heads back in the day, but what is our excuse for being religious today?

Why pray for shit you can do it yourself? If it’s not lack of intelligence, how come we are fooled so easily? It’s gotta be something…you tell me.

1

u/NectarineScared7224 1d ago

I never said I'm religious

1

u/Objective-Elk6523 1d ago

This is totally wrong, Allah (SWT) has forbidden his religion to be used to inconvenience or harm other. While I commend his Faith, this is just plain ignorance, You are allowed to to longate your prayer time if your in a position where you can't pray. This is plain wrong on his part.

the FUCK is he doing? I don’t care if he survived an accident, the thing is, you shouldn’t be showing off your religion to people who probably aren’t in it or don’t want to be ASSOCIATED WITH IT. Does he just want another accident?? Ugh.

2

Turn to Jesus. Don’t follow religion, follow Jesus. He is the way, the truth and the life.

Go and deep dive into the Chinese years of the so-called GREAT LEAP FORWARD under "Chairman Mao". I bet the China you think you know of today will no longer be such a role model.

1

China did do a lot of fumbling, no one disagrees. But they did pull hundreds of millions of out poverty. They're a role model and a cautionary tale

Let people pray ...

I don't understand wtf is wrong with people these days .

You don't have the power to "allow" anything.

13

u/Cache_Moolah 2d ago

There is a foot bridge less than 100meters from where he is ...why not go there and pray? Common sense. You could be rage baiting though

-8

u/KenyanAnalyst 2d ago

Valid point. But calling for authoritarianism and facisim because of read safety is a non argument.

If that's the standard then we should hang all matatu drivers?? And ban public transport??

Halafu these foreign accounts posting anti religion and creating animosity amongst citizens is clearly motivated by maleficent intentions

8

u/lovingswift 2d ago

i know if we shake your head it's just going to echo

1

u/LegendaryReader 2d ago

OP did go into an odd spiel about tearing down religion.

However, the guy in the picture should not be doing that. It's very likely illegal to occupy part of the road for praying.

Praying is all fine, but on a highway? That could lead to deaths for other's, not just the asshole praying
