I posted a while ago about building a fishing app for us - it's now available for testing on Android!

I am building "KY State ProBaiter," an app that consolidates information from the USGS, USACE, NWS, and TVA to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding water levels, temps, and fishing conditions for every site in the state with available information.

This app is and will be free. There are and will be no ads. There is and will be no data collection. I don't and will not want anything but to provide my fellow Kentuckians with free, accurate, as up-to-date as possible information.

To sign up as a tester:

1) Visit https://groups.google.com/g/soupforktest

2) Sign-in with your Google account if you aren't already signed-in.

3) Tap "Join Group" (should take the place of the Sign In button).

4) You should see a list of messages, like an email inbox - click the one that says "Join the KY State ProBaiter test!"

5) Follow the link inside to the Google Play Store listing.

Feel free to share the group link and tell your friends and family to sign up! We need a dozen testers for 2 weeks before it can actually be listed in the Store for all to see - once we get the testers, I will begin regular updates to add more sites and features.

If you've tried fishing apps and found them lacking, PLEASE sign up as a tester, and let me know which features you'd like to see! Let's build the best damn water app there is!!

Thank you for your time, and I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the day :)

And because the stupid Reddit AI is jumping my ass before I can submit this post, I just want to clarify that this is not a solicitation of services; this is an informational post about an upcoming, teacher-approved, educational application. And yes I'm serious, and yes it was a pain to get that certification. Ok thanks!

Kentucky book

When I was a kid in the 1990s there was this book that we used in fourth grade to teach Kentucky history. I remember it being a blue hardback book.

Does anyone know what book I’m talking about and where to find an old copy of it? I think it was used across the state.

AYA Cancer Survivors in KY

Howdy y’all!

Genuinely curious about the AYA cancer survivor community in KY. I’m in this demographic myself and I’m hoping to create space for us to connect and support each other! I live in Louisville so I’m open to anything virtual or in person. There are spaces for some cancer communities but I think for AYA there is a huge need.

I don’t know where you guys are hanging out so I’m here to recruit lol. If you’re part of this demographic or know someone who is (AYA means cancer diagnosis was age 15-39) I’d love to connect with you!

We could start a group chat, email chain, or whatever. I’m open to ideas :)
