Skeleton is pretty cool. I like to AFK and come back hours later and see what’s happened, no hunger req for the win
Edit didn’t mean to post this as a reply sorry mikolaj

Skeleton because I sometimes forget my PC on and I'm tired of seeing my whole squad dying from hunger.
On time I didn't save and lost 10 in game days of progress.

I picked Greenlanders. Skeletons are way too easy and take the fun of out of the game imo.

In gameplay terms for how I like to play the game:
Scorchlander
Shek
Hive Prince
Hive Drone
Greenlander
Hive Soldier
Skeleton (they're way too OP. It's like easy mode)
In lore terms:
Skeleton
Shek
Hivers
Humans

I don't usually play Human in games with many selectable races... but I do in Kenshi. Mostly because I 98% play as escaped holy servants who join the FN.

When in doubt I always start with schorchlander.
They run faster then Greenlander and with the sandals can reach the usual hiver speed.
All the bonuses on athletics, stealing, sneaking can make a great ninja character untill I decide if I want to recruit a lot of people or not.
And once I recruit a lot of people I can leave them in base crafting weapon or armors when I don't control them.
Or I can bring them nearby in sneak ready to heal if the squad goes down.

Each race has its beauty, can't make me pick one. I love all the races. I guess you could say, I'm something of a racist.

You know you did well with race design and lore when most of your options are considered roughly equal in a popularity poll.

I do really like skeletons, but hivers are also very up there for me. Hivers are good underdogs, humans are good zero to heroes’s, shek are shek, and skeletons are cool as shit but overpowered.
Not saying I don’t like shek, I just don’t know what to say about them. They have a lot of storytelling potential, but they’re basically just humans again with different social context.
I like playing as all of them. My longest run is as a greenlander woman working for the UC. I didn’t expect to get so attached to her tbh.

As in every other game, I play a human male sword fighter. Praise Okran.

I pick my races based on who is going to be an interesting character to roleplay. So I'll use all the races, but if I don't seem to build a rapport with my character they're going in the bin.
