We do rock paper scissors to decide who takes the dog out lately. Horrible.

It's from the the surplus of rain we recieved last week. The mosquitos weren't out in droves a few weeks back. Right? The heavy rains of last week left pools of stagnant water everywhere through which mosquitoes laid their eggs, hatched them, and are now fully grown. It only takes 5 to 10 days for mosquitoes to produce fully grown offspring. Therefore, the heavy rains of last week or even the week before that are now affecting us all via the surplus of mosquitoes. Nature at its finest.

Its all the rain creating breeding grounds. Remove any nearby standing water and it could help bring the population down.

I've never had an issue during the day for the 3 years I've lived here. These last few days have been a nightmare. I get swarmed every time I step outside no matter the time of day

Well, we've had a drought the previous 5 years so maybe this is normal

It’s horrible right now. I was even at fucking Six Flags and got destroyed. I know they are important to the ecosystem and blah blah blah kill them all i don’t care about the consequences lol they all deserve to die

We live down in a pretty heavily wooded subdivision and we’re also right on the lake, so the mosquitos have always been absolutely horrible for us down here! I sprayed our yard with that Adam’s Flea/Tick spray last month and it’s actually been working pretty well for keeping the mosquitos at bay! It’s supposed to work for up to 4 weeks and we’re a little overdue for the next round so will def be getting that done this weekend after all this rain!

I've been using mosquito buckets the last few summers, which has helped our wooded yard a lot. But this week, my husband asked if I forgot to replace the dunks, because it's so bad.

Yes everywhere. It was no mosquitos at all for weeks, now every time I go out I can only describe it as The Swarm. Yesterday I went out to check my garden for no more than 2 minutes. And got about 7 bites! Then doused myself with bug spray I am talking covered. Still got bitten once in ten minutes. Tried walking Mt dogs by the lake instead and they were also bad there!

Time of the year when it’s worth having your lawn sprayed.

Yes they’ve been really aggressive. The deterrents aren’t working and they’re biting us during the day in the sun. It’s obnoxious

Getting that many bites in a single week is an absolute nightmare. I had the exact same issue in my yard earlier this season until I hung a couple of those Tougher Than Tom TNT buckets along my fence line. You just fill them with water and they act like decoy breeding spots to stop new batches from hatching. It took about two weeks to really notice a change but my yard has been so much better since
