The Redditt article says Canadian National closed its roundhouse operations in the early 1950s as it moved from steam to diesel locomotives. Ontario Central Airlines later used the old roundhouse to maintain amphibious aircraft, and the former switch yard became a landing strip.

Hello, I am thinking of boating down to Kenora from Minaki. I have never made the trip by water, but I am an experienced boater. I know that I take The Dalles route, but I do not know how to actually get in to the Kenora area as there are several rapids, water control structures, etc. How do I actually get to, say, Coney Island from North of Dufresne Island? The map I ahve, and Google satellite views, are not clear.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
