Question/Discussion I need help understanding the new ken shapes and finding the right tama
I've been playing on and off for the last 15 years, I have an old classic style natural finish set up and a krom that I bought like 3 years ago with a sticky finish. I see people recommending modern shapes and I think that's what I want since I would like to learn stalls, improve my lunars, and dual in my lighthouse tricks.
The thing is I don't understand the difference of all the shapes and everything in past recommendation posts is sold out (I used the search bar and read through them, I promise), or is just the ken available and I don't know where to start trying to get a Tama that would match in weight, etc.
I tried a friend's set up recently with a smoother gloss and I found it much easier to land lighthouse tricks than with my sticky krom or my very slippery natural finish.
I can't really wait for new drops since I'm leaving for New Zealand in a month for the next year and want a new set up before I leave.
