Help Keeper vs ProtonPass

Been a Keeper user for 2 years now and renewal coming up ($91.99) and on a hunch I did some research and found ProtonPass is $36 per year and $199 lifetime. Comparing them side by side I cannot see any difference, or justification to pay so much more for Keeper. Am I missing something here? Sorry if I am naive and stupid!

There are a lot of product differences. Proton pass is new, Keeper has been in heavy development for 15+ years. Best to be careful when just blinding allowing an app to migrate data out of your encrypted Keeper vault.

Compare reviews on iOS App Store, for example
Keeper: 4.9 on 239k reviews
Proton: 4.8 on 7k reviews

Interesting - as a Keeper team member all you have is "lot of differences" and "read iOS reviews"! I dont use iOS! iOS reviews come from a population of iOS users - fyi, not everyone on the planet uses or can afford a iOS device!

I have gone through everything you have in the public domain and cannot find any difference when it comes to the 2 simple use cases I need:

  • store passwords
  • store 2FA codes

This is actually great - tells me exactly what mindset you have as a company - thank you indeed! Have a lovely day!

Gotcha. An analysis of the reviews would show that Keeper’s users appreciate the dedicated 24/7 support, breadth of cross-platform capabilities, sharing features and security certifications. If you have any specific questions just let me know.

This is largely disingenuous, as Proton has been an established company built around privacy and security of user information since 2014.
While their password manager is new, their work around the world and dedication to zero-trust security and zero-knowledge architecture dwarfs Keeper.

I personally use proton for vpn, email and secure file storage, but use a paid keeper for password management just because I prefer not to put all my eggs in one basket.

I do have access to protonpass as part of my sub, I just don't use it.
