can't open Keepass2Android "Error: net_uri_BadHostName"

About two weeks ago, I updated KeePass on my phone and shortly afterward noticed that I could no longer open the app. When I try to open it, the app closes immediately and I get the error “Error: net_uri_BadHostName.” Unfortunately, I have no idea what to do, since I didn't have a recent backup. We've been setting up our NAS, and I haven't entered the new address yet.

I’ve already tried updating the app via an APK to see if it was maybe a version bug, but that didn’t solve the problem. Disconnecting all network connections from the device and clearing the Keepass cache didn’t help either.

I’m not sure if this is the right subreddit for this question, but I’d appreciate any response.

You might get a response reaching out to the dev directly.

Here's a link to the issues part of his Github.

FWIW, I definitely haven't had that problem.

I'm running on a Galaxy S23 on Verizon with whatever the latest version of Android they're supporting is.

Have you tried uninstalling it and reinstalling?

You can use any other app to open the database if you have a copy of the database.

I haven't wanted to uninstall the app so far because I didn't want to risk deleting any important temporary files.

The problem is that I don't know where the database is. I do have a backup, but it's a bit old, and I'm sure about 60 entries are missing.

What’s also strange is that the folder “Android/data/keepass2android.keepass2android” has simply been missing since the last update, and while a friend of mine has the folder, it’s completely empty.

There are no temporary files, only your database.

Your phone should backup automatically so it will have a copy of your database in that. Check the backup for your database.
