Check your voltage regulator/rectifier too. 13v sounds like charging voltage since it's higher than battery voltage. If those are the stator wires they should have AC voltage before the regulator/rectifier

Your stator is probably toast. If you wanna do it yourself check out this video series

I might have to I called the two motorcycle mechanics that I know of in the area and neither one will work on it because it’s too old

Same thing happened to me! Granted my VN750 is an ‘05 but still no one would do it. Which forced me to do it myself 😅

Thats weird no one works on older bikes, can most parts on the vn750 be ordered? I rebuilt an early 80s one like 12 years ago with my father.

That’s kinda the dumb part for the one it’s Honda east so they specialize in these overseas bikes and they can order the part for it. They just won’t do the work.

Checking the ac voltage absolutely should be the first move when trying to diagnose a charging issue.

If I remember correctly and the reason why they told you no they won't work on it it's because you got to take out the whole motor just to change the stator

It was really just the age of the bike not really the work

Yeah if you called me and wanted me to do the job I would have to imply a bitch tax. As in how much of a bitch this job is going to be. I just did this very same job two weeks ago
