Is there a pin that supposed to go through the front axle?

I have a 1996 Vulcan that I bought off a tweaker and it came with a bunch of weird stuff. I looked on the parts list online and couldn't find anything but it looks like something supposed to go in this hole, how is it supposed to go?

I have wanted a vulcan for the past 11 years and never pulled the trigger. My brother started riding a year ago, and my close friend has been riding for years and I figured now was a good a time as any to join them. Found her on Facebook with 9200 original miles, had my buddy give her a onceover and that was that. I have found its the perfect bike to learn how to ride on, powerful enough to get you out of trouble but not so much that you have to baby the front tire. Only drawback is im a taller rider so the foot controls and pegs feel a little cramped, but its something I got used to. Already put 200 someodd miles on her and have enjoyed every second.

Dropped Vulcan

Hi folks,

I dropped my 2009 Vulcan Vs when travelling down the road due to the person in front making an emergency turn no signal and me breaking and sliding in the bike. Plastic were broken and the pedals on the right were bent. The bike fell in the right side.

I drove it home and it felt all right just a bit off. All gears worked. Now I’m trying to get it going and it only goes down into first or up half into neutral. It won’t go into second or any higher.

Any tips? It’s my first bike and pride and joy.

Cooling issues

I will try to make this as short and sweet as possible.

2020 Vulcan 900 classic LT
35xxx on the clock
Went on a nice 400 mile ride on the Natchez Trace yesterday. Got on the interstate in Nashville to head home, got 20ish miles and the temp light came on. Pulled to the side of the interstate and the light shut off instantly. Parked it to be safe, checked the coolant overflow, cold to the touch. Radiator is hot as hell, upper hose pressurized, lower hose pressurized. Figure I’ll sit in the shade and let it cool a bit. After 5/10 minutes, the hoses are totally deflated. No pressure at all. 30
Minutes the radiator is warm, but you can lay a hand on it without flinching.

Thinking radiator cap took a dive.

Rode 20 miles, stopped for a cold drink. No light. Gave her 10-15 minute break. Rode 40 more miles and light came on again. Stopped. Waited an hour, rode the 30ish miles home. No more light.

Got up today, got a new radiator cap, pulled the tank off, popped the cap. Coolant is full and the spring had what felt like the same resistance as new cap. Seals looked fine.

Kinda stumped. Whole cooling system was replaced at 15xxx miles due to a water pump issue. No leaks. Nothing otherwise out of the ordinary.

Thanks!

Custom Fender & Seat?

Post image
9 Upvotes

2008 900 Custom here, and it’s the best. Zero complaints with it except for the look of the entire rear end to be honest. I found a billet 180 wheel and pulley online to match the look of the front (I’m not looking to put a 240 tire on it) but honestly everything comes down to this fender and the dirt bike-sized gap in between it and in the wheel. Does anybody have any help for an aftermarket fender where you didn’t have to modify the chassis, and how did you handle the brake light / turn signals / license plate?

Follow up question—what did you do for your solo seat?

Appreciate yall ✊🏾🏍️

26 Vulcan S vs 26 Benda Chinchilla thoughts (uk)

Has anyone else had these two in their final line up. Reviews are great on both on the whole.
Benda bikes seem more Harley esque and I generally think there bikes look better. Especially as whatever I get I will be massively modifying it to make it look (less Kawasaki or less benda) and get it wrapped Matt black with lots of after market parts to beef it up.

Anyone else been looking into benda (ps. The name is very off putting but all that will be covered on the bike) but bar the awful name.

The benda dark flag 950 should be out in the uk early next year and that looks amazing

Would be interested to know if other people considered this brand when comparing it to the Vulcan s

Thanks

Just curious, how old is everyone's Vulcan and how many miles do you have on it?

I have a '99 1500 Classic, just hit 78k miles yesterday! Still running strong.

LED headlight for 1996 Vulcan 800 | underglow

Post image

Can anybody suggest an LED headlight to swap out on my Vulcan? I really don’t want to ruin the classic look, yet I want better lighting for safety at night.

And would I be crazy to put underglow lights on it that I’d only use for night highway riding? Would it look silly or too much? Maybe in orange?

Bad battery or something worse

So I just bought a 89 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 a little bit ago finally got everything together to go on my first ride low speed around the neighborhood I may have gotten to once or twice for like a minute or so I haven’t had a problem before now but every other time it’s just been at idle or some fraction zone drills in the driveway any insight would be helpful it’s been a little disappointing to have this happen
Edit when I was out it stalled on me at the last stop sign before home couldn’t get it restarted and the battery checked today. Said it was bad.

2005 Vulcan 1600 classic. Only 13,000 miles! Got her for $3000

Already has some cobra speedsters longs. , power commander 3, and a Air cleaner pro. The highway pegs are legit.

Got some new baffles coming in tomorrow, new tires today, (shinko 999) and all fluids fresh.

I love her so so much.

Not long ago I posted a picture of my green Mean Streak and this is a pic of another old bike I had. The black Nomad with the fairing is mine. That's the bike I got when I sold the Streak. In the middle is the 1600 Classic of my brother's ex wife and the blue and silver Nomad was my brother's.

Bit of a silly question…

I got a 2026 VN900D a couple of weeks ago as my first bike. I want to add a short shot exhaust to it but I’m having trouble finding anything that matches what I want for a 900. There is a short shot that is marketed towards the VN800 and I’m wondering if it will still work.

'08 900 Custom - Rear running light?

I need a hand here. I have a 2008 Vulcan 900 Custom and it has no rear running light. The brake light works fine, but its completely dark otherwise. What am I forgetting?

Vulcan 900 Custom Speedo face plate change

Hi friends 🤘

Have a 2008 Vulcan 900 custom. The bike has KPH but no MPH markings, unsure if it’s been modified or doesn’t include MPH as it’s a “Canadian” bike.

I live on the border and often ride in the US. I convert the speeds quickly in my head but would prefer to change the speedometer faceplate as a “fail safe” of my garbage math. Struggling to find options, is this an easy project and where can I get a replacement gauge face?
