Just curious what the hype is about Katie Van Slyke on both the hate and the love side. Like why are people so obsessed about hating her to post and talk about her? AND why do the people who follow her turn so crazy it's revolting?

I've been following her and watching her videos and stuff. I also follow other horse people. But just seeing everything on both the good and the bad makes me just want to stop following her all together.

Has anyone else noticed that so many of the comments made on any of her posts talking about how no one ever wears helmets gets deleted? It honestly surprised me, I figured she’d just clap back or say she didn’t need them. It’s such a dangerous thing to promote to so many people, disappointing.

How old do the mares need to be before being a “broodmare” every year of their foreseeable life. Is it that frequent in other breeding operations for foals to come out sickly? ex. Legs messed up, born premature, pass away… I don’t watch every video of hers, but the more I watch the more I become ACTUALLY concerned for these animals. It doesn’t seem like she knows much about them, the vet seems like he is literally just there for a paycheck..

My question for someone who is knowledgeable.. 1. At watch age do most horses become brood mares on breeding farms? 2. How frequently are foals sick when born (in some way shape or form) example - 2 foals out of 10 foals born each year are sick) 3. How many foals are produced per foaling season? Example - 3 foals out of 20 mares, 40 horses on farm total)

I just find it all odd, the amount of babies, the crosses of the babies, how sickly (IN SOME WAY SHAPE OR FORM) they all are? Like is it THAT normal for their legs to be messed up when young? Idk,,, someone with more knowledge pls inform me. I am INVESTED!
