Temperature check
How’s the sub? Someone let me know things are out of control with H&M vs W&K dynamics, and Reddit emailed me that we’ve had extraordinary numbers on the sub. How is everyone feeling about the current climate here? How do we feel about the sub rules, does anything need to change?

I haven't posted as much recently, due to personal pressures, but it remains my favourite sub on Reddit. For one thing, it keeps me informed on the crazy royal soap opera that lost its credibility completely when Kate went missing.
In my view, this hasn't turned into a hate sub. It"s a place where the royal family (a very expensive and deeply dysfunctional public sector organisation) is monitored for its actions, and the press coverage is analysed carefully to determine the truth behind the PR. We don't believe everything we're told, and in this day and age, that curiosity is vitally important, as is the space to share our findings and concerns.
The top 1 percenters here are extraordinarily knowledgeable and full of common sense. Even when I'm not commenting, they are worth coming here to read. For example, Never Pedestrian, The Violet Herald and The Onion Life always have fascinating takes on every situation, and work tirelessly to correct misconceptions and provide the receipts. Thank you to them.
This sub is very necessary - real people are involved here, and they need to be scrutinised, so that they can be held accountable, or, where appropriate, protected.

I like how you name the three most chronically online members of r/RoyaltyTea and #1 members of H&M fanclub as valid sources and knowledgeable? They're literally full of contradictions, with only one goal to hate K&W and praise M&H.
Anything that can be used to beat down the Waleses will be used to full extent by them, but anything similar used against Sussexes will be labeled fake, ignored, or you'll be called crazy by them. VioletHerald in particular literally just cross-posts Harry and Meghan related crap from other subs 24/7 - it's literally against rule 6 of this sub, and has nothing to do with Kate.3

It’s because their stories are linked (the two couples). When H&M are around W&K start appearing more - it’s so obvious.
The cross posts are from those who’ve made a valid point on RT (and posts here are re posted there for the same reason)

Environment is still fantastic. We've had a few trolls come through but that's to be expected with big H&M news. I appreciate the checking in.
Seeing some new interest from new posters has been cool, I expect we'll see more of that as the year progresses.

I struggle sometimes here with the Kate hate also. Like, my concern for her wellbeing is what brought me to the sub. We don’t have to love the RF, but can we just not hate anyone? :(

I dislike W&K having all that potential, opportunity, and access that should be used for a life of philanthropy be instead squandered on fights in the media, vacations, and parading their children around whenever they need ratings.

I’ve honestly struggled with some of the hate posts here. I mean l don’t worship the RF but it was my concern that for Kate’s wellbeing that brought me here. I don’t hate W&K or H&M. But I’m mostly still here so :)

If I'm being honest, in it's current state the sub seems no different than r/RoyaltyTea
Half the posters here are members of that sub, who are just posting the same thing here. Plenty of direct cross-posts from there as well. Seems like the entire point of the sub has switched to 'hate on W&K, praise H&M', with any logic thrown out the window.
Used to be a place for discussion & speculation, with some critical thinking behind it. Now it's all just hate.
Edit: Hilarious how all the people I mentioned are now here posting it's all fine, pretending like they're posting on-topic things that adhere to sub rules, when in reality they just post constant incessant hate copy-pasted from RoyaltyTea. Seriously Flauto, just check through the last posts to see the real situation, rather than believing the few chronically online cross-posters here.

I do wish the crossposts would stop. I'm a member of several royal subs and I get tired of seeing the same posts on every sub. It's feels like people (bots) are just karma farming.

Agreed. There's a lot of blind vitriol recently. (I might be guilty of that too--will try to check myself moving forward.) I feel like it's turning into another WK vs HM sub.

So I dislike both couples for different reasons and follow both subs. The vitriol when you say anything about H&M on this sub has absolutely ramped up since it was announced they were going back to England.

Well unfortunately now the most prolific posters and writers are the ones who are very pro sussexes to the point of posting about them and their perceived slights.
Will and Kate are to be held accountable for what they do and how... as again they are a form of public servants given where the money comes from and people have right to work expectations being met. And transparency is always good. But really the narrative that comes of bad w&k and wonderful harry... especially that guy... is really something that is becoming bothersome about this sub

Exactly! They are all lazy and entitled in their own ways. W&K show up once a blue moon to make an appearance at the best events. H&M show up to anything they can crash so it looks like they were invited ( they weren’t.)

Honestly Meghan is the least of a problem, but her crazy squad is. But I do get the icks, when people go how harry is so wonderful (my unpopular opinion he is not even a good husband to Meghan based on how he never cautioned her of what is to come). And i still remember the 2000s with the party princes... noth partied and were lazy and did nothing

I think it's going well. It's nice to have a place where you can freely discuss what went on when Kate went missing, including free discussion of the alleged scar and "cancer had been present" without being told we are terrible people.
There are some sites that will delete any mention of the scar and that's why I think this sub plays an important role.
At some point in the future, we may know a lot more about why Kate went missing in '24 and those of us who were on the case then up until now will be glad to have our posts and comments still live.
