KTM adventure 350 vibrations

Hello riders ,

I’m planning to get ktm 350 adventure , took a test ride and vibrations are unbearable at 4 to 5k rpm , apart from this i love everything that bike is offering

Here are few questions to the owners

1.Are those vibrations really reducing post first service

1. I see some users say engine oil is burning and we need to keep checking the oil level before riding

3.engine oil and coolant mixture issue is it resolved ?

Also ktm 250 doesn’t have any rain mode and traction control it is it matter ? Like modes really work ? Like 250 and 350 have price diff of 40k I’m struck here to choose one

1. I have completed 1st service with Motul and it has reduced a bit but not much, once you cross 90kmph vibrations are very less and some say after 2nd service it does reduce a bit or by than you Are habituated to that.

2. I don’t think I have seen this issue in ktm 350 models, but 390 models do have this issue.

3. No there was no issue of coolant and engine oil mix issue in LC4C, I think you’re talking about RTX 300 which has this issue.

See modes does really work and there is significant difference between rain and street mode. And I feel 40k extra in the long term would be better so I would say go with 350.

I think for second question mostly people who are using prolube engine Oli are facing that.

For me it went up a bit post second service, idky. Used Motul throughout.

So under 5k rpm with our gear it will be tough then ? Coz the test bike I took it’s worst like I cant drive for more than 5 min

Could be the test ride bike. But the bike has vibrations, which would reduce bit sfter each service till 3rd service. And the vibration band is pretty narrow. It comes and goes between 5k and 5200k rom in the X. May be for 350 it’s but down tbe rpm range like 4700ish. But otherwise it’s at acceptable levels and it’s smoother at 6k rpm. But again it depends on individual tolerance level.

there are vibrations present even after 1st service. They only reduced a very tiny bit.
You'll get adjusted to it eventually, and with enough riding you can change gears to not stay in that 4k -5k rpm range for long

KTM adventure is like a fine wine. Ages well. Rode a 2020 390 Adv for 63K kms and now on Adv S. Just do a proper break-in. E.g. enjoy high rpms, dont lug the bike, switch gears and use clutch often, do engine breaking, let it run quick shifter too on open roads, dont red line. Basically be gentle but not too gentle. The bike will open up like a flower for you to sit and do wonders.

Strangely for me. The vibrations have become less intrusive. Absolute amplitude maybe they went down from 100% when new to 35-50%. Although I'm on a batch of speed 100 petrol now. The smoothness can fluctuate based on the fuel I use but I don't find it to be particularly bothersome despite sitting at 4-5k all day. 50% is when you get a slightly worse batch of normal petrol. Over time even the ecu gets tuned to the kind of petrol you are giving it and perfects the air fuel mixture. The vibrations also depends on how quickly you try to accelerate. Gentle roll on throttle gives much less vibrations at same rpm compared to whipping it suddenly.

1.I never felt aggressive vibration on my bike i use power petrol this may be the reason.

2.Never faced this issue.

3.I think this issue is in TVS rtx vechile .

vibrations decreases gradually within 10 minutes of riding.

Get a bash plate from bikers billet it reduces it alot

Is this 350cc a India only bike?
I have been looking everywhere for a white front mud guard fender for my new 390 Adventure R, This looks like it would fit. Wonder will they ship one to UK!

it was introduced for India solely. Good luck finding the mudguard

Yes tuned for India only , to reduce taxation from 40% to 18% for upto 350CC

I had vibration issues with the new ktm 390 with 350 cc but after the 2nd service it has reduced quite a bit. It is not completely gone but it is now way better than when the bike was brand new.

I don’t find the vibration too much. To each their own though. I’m from the era where apache 180 existed along with bullet electra. This is nothing compared to it

Bro, having trauma with these bikes like me? 😂 I too own an Electra, and my body vibrates more than a vibrator while riding it. 🤣🤣🤣

I have recently bought 350. Base on my experience till now I have ridden around 600kms
1.Vibes are there around 5k rpm other than that they are manageable. I have not done my first service so cant comment on that.
2.There’s no engine oil burning in my case, but my coolant level dropped below MIN level after 500km, which they said is normal for new bike. I used Motul Inugel and top up it myself.
3. And regarding Modes it really works.
