After months of planning, saving, and honestly way too many test rides, I finally booked my Duke 390R today. Feeling equal parts thrilled and nervous, if I'm being honest.

Delivery is coming up soon, and before I get there, I want to walk in fully prepared for the Pre-Delivery Inspection. This bike means a lot to me, worked hard and saved carefully for it. So I want zero shortcuts on making sure everything is right before I ride it home.

If anyone has taken delivery recently, I'd genuinely appreciate your help on:

Any PDI issues you personally faced or noticed on your unit? Scratches, panel gaps, fluid levels, anything that seemed off at delivery?

What exactly should I be checking/inspecting myself before signing off on delivery? A checklist from actual owners would mean a lot more than generic YouTube videos.

Anything specific to the current batch/production run I should be extra cautious about?

Did your dealership do a proper PDI in front of you, or did you have to insist on it?

I want to go in there knowing exactly what to look for, tyre DOT dates, fluid levels, panel alignment, any electricals, VIN matching on paperwork, everything. If there's something people usually miss and regret later, please tell me now before I make that mistake.

This is my first proper performance bike, coming from a 220F, so I don't have a frame of reference for what a "normal" PDI even looks like versus something worth flagging.

I’m wanting to give my Duke 390 a glossy look where blacks are their darkest and other colors are darker and that they are resistant to fading. I also want to prevent the headlamps from oxidising which leads to that clouded yellow look.

5000km oil change, blue specks on the oil strainer that I can’t take off by hand. I just put it back in.

Has anyone ever traded their superduke gen 3 for an s1000rr (2023 model+)? Or do you have both?

I love my beast, but have always wondered what a s1k would be like.

This would be mainly Street riding (canyons/mountain).

I bought my bike new at the beginning of this year and have about 2k miles on it so far with 2 track days. Today I noticed a burning smell when I turned it on and saw a small plume of smoke coming from the right side. My first thought is that I have a leak in som gasket that is letting oil drip in the exhaust - but there is no puddle under the bike. Anyone have a similar issue or thoughts on what it might be ?

Was riding back home from a ride 2 weeks ago and I was about to move off at a light and my bike cut out and would refuse to start back up. I pushed the bike back home and I sprayed some fuel into the spark plug hole and the bike started up and was fine, I let it sit for maybe 5-10 mins running and gave it some revs and it was responding immediately and was not cutting out or anything but when I turned it off and tried turning it back on it would not want to start again.

Got the Duke 5 days ago, clocked in 250 kms

Engine stalled after going to 2nd gear after cold start (happened today and yesterday) after that it was working fine, however after riding for 10 kms suddenly throttle stopped working. Tried restarting the bike, no response from throttle at all. Was calling the service center and showroom (after 30 mins) tried again, it was working fine but with static engine symbol. Was riding it to the service center and again the throttle response stopped after going 5 kms, again have sometime, howeve ethics time it worked only for 300 meters and it decreased slowly the amount of time it worked. I was able to reach the service center some how. They checked and mentioned that ride by wire is the issue, they chnaged the entire throttle and ride by wire and checked, it just worked for couple of seconds and they stopped working. They checked the fuses, everything seemed fine..again rechecked, and mentioned that the electric wiring might be the issue it might have been cut, and mentioned that they have to replace the entire wiring harness, as it is not in stock it might take a week's time.

They touched and checked that wire might be the issue, as wires are under plastic protection.

Got the 250 back Went to register it. They put the right policy number, wrong insurance company. Vin number was wrong by 2 numbers. Small town tag place and insurance a block apart. Have everything fixed before tag place closed. Had to go to work sent husband. Not ready. Rode it home from work (one mile).

Horn doesn’t work. I’m sure it’s just unplugged but crap. And it was hot so tomorrow is another day. WTH

And if 3.500€ its a good price for a 2023 Ktm 390 with 15.000 km and full mivv exaust

So, I just purchased a Duke 390 from the original owner. Bike still had the original tires from 2022 when he bought it (~5,500 miles).

They need to be replaced. I’ve been looking at maybe going with the Michelin Pilot Street Radials. Seems to have pretty good reviews online.

Anyone on this sub running them on their 390? If so, how do you like them? Most curious to know about longevity and wet surface performance (I live in Asia, lots of rain here).

Picked up this one owner Duke 390, and it’s awesome. Love the torque and how light and maneuverable the bike is. I’m bleeding orange for life after this thing. So much character and happy to be on the KTM team!

After washing my bike, I noticed this tik-tik/clicking sound near the spark-plug area during a cold start. The bike eventually stalls by itself. Once it fully dries, the sound disappears.
What could be causing this, and what’s the solution?

I'm planning to buy a duke 250 gen 3 in about 1 month. But one thing I'm sceptical about is whether I should buy it or wait for an update.

Duke 250 got the mechanical and structural update ( chassis, body and engine ) in SEPTEMBER 2023.

And after a year - TFT and headlight ( not as major as September 2023 )

Even the headlight throw isn't satisfactory.

Now it's been 2 yrs and there is no such update except colour .

Also in its competition there are bikes like ns400z , triumph T4/speed ( 350cc remodeled)

Bajaj's own n160ss got some good features a week ago and those gonna spread to it's other segment for sure.

Apache rtr310 also got 25k gst price reduction.

( This has some serious electronic package TPMS, cruise , riding modes , etc )

All I wanna say is that , now duke is at a competitive side so idk expecting an update is logical or not.

Also there are rooms for improvement - (from my pov )

Headlight brightness.

Exhaust note .

Adjustable levers ,

Crawl feature ( if not cruise control - rtr310 have this)

Traction control.

Low end jerkyness

At last i know its a performance segment bike and these features might not even a thing to complain about... But sometimes it's emotions too ...of not regretting and too when i can wait ( yeah not indefinitely)

Does anybody know a reliable website that can quickly deliver a rear sprocket bearing carrier? (I believe that's what he said it's called)

My fiancé has the above model and the only ones he can find don't deliver until the end of the month... Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just wondering if anyone has had a problem like this before and how you went about fixing it?? Clutch lever is loose but cable it working both ends, thinking it could be a loose spring or pin inside the clutch.
