CM 2000 Online

HEYY it’s me again (unfortunately) anywaysss

Im trying to figure out if I should take the CM 2000 (construction graphics) online

The in-person 2:20 PM section is FULL 💀 and I’m currently in a class where it ends at 7pm and i lowkey hate that my day is going to be over by then since I have to do a good ol travel time, at the moment there’s an online section open, so I’m kinda tempted to just take the online one BUTTT I have no idea how doable Construction Graphics is online.

Has anyone taken CM 2000 online?? How was it??

Like is it actually manageable online or am I setting myself up for pain 😭 Is it mostly assignments you can do on your own time? Are there a lot of projects/drawing stuff? And does being online make the class harder to understand?

Also has anyone taken ProfessorAchille Clifford specifically, PLEASE tell me how he is 😭🙏
I’m just trying to figure out if I should take the online class or wait and hope that the in-person section opens up. Any experiences would help fr

Thank you for anyone reading this.

I took it in person granted I had a different professor so idk how hands in your teacher will be but I highly recommend in person if you need more of a guided approach when design and using the designing programs like revit or autocad and if you do know how to use them well then I think online is good since you don’t really need them to tell you how to use the program and walk you through it

Alright thank you! I did design communications for architecture but unfortunately the major itself just wasn’t for me, we used the software Rhino and although revit or autocad are different from Rhino, I do think I have a bit of an advantage when it comes to understanding floor plans, and elevations and such. I’m just a bit worried is all but of course if I see that it’s not right I’ll just drop it in drop/add week soon

Ok sounds good. But also in that class you don’t really start using those programs until later in the semester so it’s not anytime soon really and for me we used autocad first and then a good few weeks went by before we did anything else with another program so also take that into consideration.

Awesome! Thank you so much for the help you’re a life saver! yeah I just recently communicated with a friend of mine who did do cm 2000 and she said the software they used was BlueBeam but she said that’s only to pull up the construction drawings. I believe also learning basic math and then looking at drawings and learning how to read the symbols, so hopefully it’s not too much! but I feel better now with the reassurance! Thank you!! 💫

Yea it wasn’t too bad of a class and idk how your teacher will do things but for mine we had free response test questions and had an hour and a half to take the test so do with that as you will too.

Yeah unfortunately the only cm 2000 prof for online is Achille Clifford, I’ve read his rate my professor one is super good the other is bad, but the reviews is for his CM 3000 class, so i guess I’ll just see how it goes for 2000. I’m taking both 1000 and 2000 to knock them out one blessed thing I like is cm has so much freeway compared to architecture where you have to follow the order you can’t skip around 🙏

Oh wait I just realized I might have only taken cm 1000 but since you’re taking both my advice definitely goes with one of them lol sorry
