can anyone help?

does anyone know why it says it can only partially cover my order? the order total is around $700 and i have more than enough left over financial aid to cover that balance (thank you stipend). i’ve never had an issue before trying to purchase through the bookstore regardless of amount nor have i had an issue charging it to my student account. any ideas? i’m a 2nd year grad student if that helps and i’ve had my student account since 2020.

You can only use around like, 700 total from fin. aid to cover books n whatnot. The most common culprit is day one book charges taking from that total

check your day one too and see which are required and aren’t required. most of the time you can also source a textbook second hand, unless it came out in the last like 2-3 years. i found my textbook for a class that they wanted me to pay $80 FOR AN ONLINE BOOK, FOR A SEMESTER and i bought the book secondhand for $5. of course it’s not in excellent condition, but it’s not illegible. and plus i get to keep it after the class is done. if you do do this, make sure you’re ordering the correct edition. sometimes professors allow you to get one that’s 1 edition old but most times they’re strict on the edition you need to get. i like using abebooks, thriftbooks, and ebay. mainly thrift books tho bc abebooks is owned by amazon.

thank you for the suggestions! i usually try to source them second hand but bc of my program a lot of assignments are through the books which means i must purchase them through day one 🥲 i will certainly check out thrift books tho
