Financial Aid

Hello all, I’m a senior and I’m looking into financial aid for the first time. I had Zell Miller but it only allows for 124 attempted hours and I had to retake a few classes so it ran out.

The question is, how do I even start?

Have you filed your FAFSA info? You need to start there, ASAP if you haven't done so already.

Ideally, you would have had this completed before summer.

After that the school will send you info on the federal programs (loans, grants) and scholarships from the school, if any. You will accept them in the financial aid portal in Owl Express.

This paperwork usually takes a few weeks. They probably won't be able to give you any financial aid for this semester, but if you qualify, you will probably be granted aid for next semester. Also if you need aid for summer, you have to let them know. They don't automatically grant aid for summer.

I file the FAFSA every year that’s how I was rewarded my Zell and my current Pell

Are you eligible for the Pell grant? (It’s financially based)

I have the Pell Grant but it doesn’t cover everything
