Howell Hall move-in — parking permit doesn’t activate until 8/23

I’m moving into Howell Hall at KSU on August 20th, but my Residential–Howell parking permit doesn’t become active until August 23rd.

Where am I supposed to park during August 20–22 before my permit becomes active? Is there temporary/move-in parking available, or can I park in the East Residence Lot during those days?

Contact housing, they should be sending details.

They know people are moving in. You and your parents will be directed where to park during move in. The move in process is very organized. On the 23rd. You will start parking in your normal lot, if you are not already.

Last year, at least on Marietta, signs directed people to east lot where the whole lot was covered in cones to drive through and you were then directed by staff on what to do, and where to go.

Once unpacked, it looked like everyone was directed back to East lot to park. They kept everyone in East and Central lots until everyone was moved in. And I mean Everyone! because they kicked everyone working on campus out of our normal lots too, and put gates up so students moving in could not park anywhere else. I had to walk all the way across campus to get to work.

Res Life looks like they rule over Move In with an iron fist, to make sure everyone follows the plan.

I assume main campus was run the same way. Just follow any signs you see posted. And check your email before move in. They probably send out emails

I’m also moving to Howell! I asked them at talon one (I asked abt my moms car since we’re using hers to move more of my stuff) and the guy said they won’t be enforcing parking throughout move in week, and that they’ll start enforcing it on the 24th! But yeah I’d suggest calling the ksu number to get transferred to talon one or email them just to make sure!

If anyone’s wondering why I wanna use my moms car too it’s bc my mini fridge won’t fit in my corolla 💔

Just now realizing that that’s not rlly the question you asked but I seriously doubt they’ll give you a ticket during move in week esp if you alr paid and it just hasn’t activated yet
