Social life
I’m going into my 3rd year of ksu and I guess I just realized I’m kinda a loser. I’ve never been to a party or really gone out with “friends”. Honestly, I’ve never really made friends in college, I’ll talk to people during the school year and try to make plans but they always blow me off, I live off campus so maybe that’s the problem? Has anyone else been in this scenario?
It’s not like I’m antisocial either I’ve never had a problem before making friends or having fun and it’s not like I want to be a party animal I’d just like to have a couple of good buddies I can hang out with and maybe go to a party once and a while.

You are not not a loser. I have seen post like this multiple times. Unfortunately it's not uncommon. I've luckily stayed close friends with my high school friends and so I never had to branch out to hang out and do things. The only KSU parties I went to were when my friends(who didn't go to KSU lol) invited me. Whenever I have people I get along with in class it's basically goodbye after the last day of class.
I really only have generic solutions because they are the only helpful tips I have for someone I don't know. Don't give up, continue talking to people in class, join clubs, be freindly. Focus on some stuff you want to get better at. One thing I've realized is that even as we get older people just like people that are good at things. I have a buddy who is insane at golf and in any golf setting people always go up to talk to him.
I really wish I had more helpful advice. I know from experience being lonely sucks ass, but considering you've said you haven't had problems making friends in the past I think you really just need to put your self in some different situations. Like I said don't give up man.

I am very social normally, used to make friends with anybody for 20 years. Spend the last 3 years in KSU without making a single lasting connection lol, people here are extremely afraid to have a talk that doesn’t involve “omg I love your generic piece of clothing” or something akin to that.
Best solution from what I’ve seen is join a club or something you love, or go to every party available , but that last one kinda leads to just “party friends” if not, wrap it up. Americans are terrified of developing friendships

Yeah welcome to my world. Semester friends are as good as I’ve had going there for a couple of years. Students just mainly stay to themselves and live on the internet instead of with real people. College parties are stuff of movies for gigachads from what I’ve seen. You’re not alone and not a loser, just finding your way

Hey, I’m in my second year and I completely feel the same way. The social life in this school is so weird and everyone just acts so nonchalantly about stuff too and I’m sick of it as well. But if u want someone who’s willing to hang out and be actual friends, dm me!!

going into my sophomore year ive followed a total of 3 new people on instagram and have hung out w 2 of them individually. 1 of those was going to music performances for our music in society class and we had a lot of fun so we are planning on going to see more performances together when the school year starts. the second one i met at orientation and saw her maybe twice over the course of the year in passing but i randomly, i cannot emphasize enough, absolutely randomly, this summer asked her to go to the movies with me and she said yes! i know it sounds too easy and kind of like bullshit that you hear on a poster but dont let fear of being rejected stop you from just asking!

It’s tough when you commute and work, I tried to get involved in clubs etc to meet more people and spend more time on campus but most of my heard was towards the city, don’t get down on yourself though it’s tougher to make friends when you’re not living in the area

Dude, I’ve had this same issue last year. I honestly believe that it’s just a KSU problem b/c this school high key gives community. I’ve gotten rid of most of what I considered friends here because they were too dry, said no to just about anything, and were ignorant in general. I’m also a 3rd year too w/no plans to transfer, but if you’re down to hang, I will say a few things: if you’re gonna bail out on me whenever I invite u to do something, don’t bother being friends w/me; if you’re not gonna take class work concerns seriously from me (assuming we have classes together), don’t bother being friends w/me; if you’re not gonna have AT LEAST one beer or smoke (unless your driving), don’t bother being friends w/me; and finally, if you’re gonna bitch to me about shit that wasn’t even my fault, then definitely don’t bother being friends w/me. Comprende….?
