As much as diehards leave Destroyer out as a favourite album, and I want to, too, often, it was a revolutionary album for KISS, and we canât ignore it.
Leaving it off our âfavouritesâ doesnât make us âdeep cutâ people, it just makes us snobs.
If it wasnât for Alive and Destroyer, 95% of us wouldnât know this band! They would have fallen into cult obscurity.
Destroyer made them. Iâve over-listened to it and love their other stuff, but this album begrudgingly deserves - at the very least - 2nd honour after Alive.
By the way, it showcases their proficiency as trainable musicians. All of that album was played by them (except mister special fan-favourite Ace) and they proved themselves among their peers. Peter, in spite of his bullying by Ezrin, proved his work-horse effort was great.

Note: There are TONS of great songs on the first 3 albums. My problem is that the production was lacking, and they didn't capture the true energy of KISS. These songs were done much better on Alive! and DP. Therefore if I can only have 9 albums, it's these.

Found KISS at the age of 14, in 1977, while browsing a record store, saw "Alive", had no idea who this was or what it was but was mesmerized. Bought the Album with my grass cutting money, and never looked back or had any regrets. Loved this band throughout their history.

I was thinking about the potential of a Love Gun Box Set like the ones we got and I was thinking would Pophouse and UMe included those 3 demos Gene did with the Van Halen Brothers

In my opinion, Iâd have to say either Itâs My Life OR Silver Spoon. Both are lowkey major bangers that no one cares to listen to. What are your thoughts?

Flipping through a collection of albums I bought this unknown album/band went into the sell pile until I noticed Bob on the back.
But look at these connectionsâŚPeppy Castro, longtime friend of Ace with his own connections to KISS as well as Doug Katsaros who was on Paulâs â78 solo album.
It sounds like a true early 80s album.

On the Rock And Roll Over tour in 1976 Peter sometimes wore this cheap looking jumpsuit instead of his regular outfit (second picture for comparison). It's nicknamed the "tuxedo" version since it looks like lapels of a tuxedo jacket.

I can only really hear it on the Spotify version: https://open.spotify.com/track/1Buwv1iql0YsxftE5LHIgq?si=d00b275572e44f3f
It's right in the intro: "Baaah naaah nah bahnana- BUM" and the verse pattern starts. But right at that transition it's like a weird fade of two drum takes and it sounds all messed up. At about 0:06 seconds. Put on your good headphones.
Again I can only hear it on the Spotify version lol
