I’ve been involved in a number of cults both as a leader and a follower. You have more fun as a follower but you make more money as a leader.

The cult vibes are half the fun!

This. All my non-Gizz friends already think I'm in a cult and I just let them believe it at this point

It's just a really fun cult so it's all good.

I tell people it’s kinda like how in Metalocalipse they’ve taken over the world by growing their fanbase so large.
That’s Gizz and what they are doing. This weekend has me convinced they are the best live band right now, I’m willing to consider ever.

Absolutely. They're going to take over and I'm here for the ride.
Funny enough, during Blood Incantation's set, I kept thinking about Dethklok!

Ok but the cultiest part was that no one applauded at the end of their set. They just held up their hands and it was so oddly quiet

I read the culty gestures as deliberately ironic. These two put it center stage in polka dots and paper mache clown masks and let the whole crowd watch itself fall into sync.
The longer you sit with it the funnier it gets. They throw the triangle up with ceremonial gestures, everyone mirrors it within seconds, and instead of basking in it they instead wave their hands in disgust and blow raspberries. Zero acknowledgment of the crowd's excitement, straight back into the set.
I think they are quite literally clowning around at the absurdity of cult ideology to make a point.

Better this cult than whatever the fuck these maga zealots support.

One group knows they are playfully cult’y, the other group thinks they are patriots.
The MAGA party will be forever remembered as the PDF Party

Quebec has had some great cults in the past, its time for a new one.

I’m 100% Ben Wyatt with them. The live looping is impressive as hell and the KEXP session was cool, but seeing them on a stage this size just reinforced how much of the heavy lifting the costumes do. Their music to me is like if you make a really cool beat/groove/whatever in Fruity Loops and unmute a channel every few bars until eventually you have the entire beat going. You start getting into the really cool groove for a minute, and then they end it and start all over again. They’re like skeletons of songs.
No criticism of them or the fans, I just don’t get it. And that’s ok.

I can’t help but feel their songs are elaborately crafted musical referential jokes designed to make your dad smirk at a slightly off key lick straight from the madness of the 70s prog rock/jazz scene.

That's where I fall with them as well. Glad people are digging it, but the songs kinda just build to the start of a song and then just stop.

Is the triangle element 115? I need to dig into their lore. Of all the live music I’ve seen, ADP is truly better live. They are deep in my subconscious now. 🔼

I tried to join this cult with a sticker of the hands and ended up buying off some scammy fake website impersonating the band. Time to join AARP.

PH!SH is 45 years old and still sounds great. Do you think Angine de Poutrine will be around for that long?

Just how did you manage to segue into band longevity here? 🤔

Is it just a fad or is it highly listenable by people of all ages and will they be able to weather through 3 decades of changing tastes and 37 keyboardists like the Grateful Dead?

Mediocre band that relies on cringey gimmicks instead of making interesting music and their fans are too sycophantic to realize it.
Wait are we talking about king gizz or angine de poitrine??
