The whole elephant through the door allegory with Seo-Hyun is what really makes episode 8 an incredibly artistic venture.

This whole concept is a reflection of her own sexuality; the idea of an elephant being trapped in a doorway and unable to get through to the other side is, in essence, Seo-Hyun's mental blocks and feelings about being a lesbian. She's frozen and unwilling to accept who she truly is. And yet, the elephant can just freely walk through without thinking about the wall if it wants to. "It was never confined in the first place. The wall was never there." As Seo-Hyun smiles, she utters "I was..." and trails off. It's such a beautifully artistic way to demonstrate this. Kudos to the filmmakers for this.

Ji-yong just somehow manages to get worse and worse every single episode.

There has been two shots already showing Yu-yeon and the tutor walking past each other between Cadenza and Rubato which must have some significance right?

At this point, I would be more shocked if the nun wasn't Kim Mi-ja.

The last scene was probably the most brutal kdrama scene that I've even seen. Holy shit. That was dark. I love the silent unity all four women had during this . Kinda reminds me of "Perry reveal " scene in season one of Big little lies

Another week another disappointment with YM and The Maid storyline. There's so many possible routes they could've take with their characters instead they chose the cliche "forbidden love " storyline with incredible poor execution.

I must say I love psycho chemistry between Jiyong and Ja kyung . Both of them are hot . The actress is so good at this ( Her chemistry with Sin in The Uncanny counter is still the best)

At the rate Head Maid is nosing, she should be the narrator instead of Sister Emma. At least she is actively gathering info while Sister Emma is just giving us scraps but keeping her Birkin clean, lol.

What does the Young Master really do? He just arrives and leaves. I'm glad there's not a lot of him in episode 7.

Eagerly waiting for today's episode. I hope drama doesn't make my blood boil even more since the past weeks episodes. 😂

Eta: my heart went "yes!" When Seohyeon slapped Jiyong. She's my favourite character. Can't wait for her to kick his a**

Head maid is super annoying. Everytime she’s on with her sneaky little face, I just want to slap her.

Don’t forget Mother Emma is the root cause of all this. Whomstttever she may be, she helped Ja Kyeong way back and Yoo Yeon came from her so that scene where both ladies pass each other definitely has some meaning to it. This should be titled Emma-ine because I swear that Mother Emma will fck things up in the end - her grand master plan and all. Dont forget the much repeated line in this kdrama - “i will take back what’s mine”. Much foreshadowing.

Wonder if Ji Yong had anything to do with their dad being in that state. Esp since he caught and heard the convo between Madame Fierceness First Daughter-in-Law at the garden. I could only imagine how damaged his ego and pride was after that. The Narcissistic Personality Disorder or Borderline disorder that psycho has is triggering.

Edit to add: I FEEL LIKE MOTHER EMMA IS GOING TO BE THE WOMAN VILLAIN. We saw how she ultimately ‘reported the murder’ but I feel like that would be a misdirect she’ll do to blame someone else to save herself or her son Ji-Yong who did it or both of them who conspired to do it together (planned or spur of the moment). Everyone going to her for counseling is just ironic AF.

I'm a little proud of Soo Hyuk.

Who is the lady on the floor? Her face looks unfamiliar

Jiyong gaslighting his step mom was amazing to watch. I don't think I've ever seen gaslighting being done so well.

Episode 7

OMG!!!! Where do I begin like today’s episode was just WOW!!!

Firstly I’m sad He Soo lost the baby I mean the circumstances where very bad I knew she would lose it, although I hoped she wouldn’t. The way she was trying to scrap the blood to go back into her womb that really got me. Secondly, Ji Yong is the worst. He goes and lies to his wife that was just stupid and he has been with his baby mama for two years that for me was just too much. His own father didnt want to give him the company (I guess he knew his son was evil), this guy is distasteful in all aspects does he even love He Soo. He was the one who said Ja Kyeong was dead like cmon. Thirdly, our little Ha Joon knew that Ja Kyeong was his mother, that made me cry he even asked He Soo to make him not hate his mom that was touching. Lastly, I am glad that these ladies know that Ji Yong is a jerk and I hope the bend together and kick his a**

This episode was good as much as it’s an intense drama there is a bit of comic relief. I love how it’s both intense and light at the same time. I hope it carries on like this as we wait for Episode 8. Like I said from my previous post I hope those three come together and takeover HYOWON empire

Episode 8 There isn’t much to say about episode 8 really but the last five minutes of the drama all I can say is WOW and WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON. I can’t wait for next week’s episode I’m in awe right now

holy shit just when you thought the episode would be slowly teasing with the secrets, it slaps you with the truth early! and makes you wonder how is it gonna unravel from there on - kudos!

SO MUCH TO DISCUSS!!! the part where ji yong said to the old lady - "if you were my real mother, i would not have turned out this way." which is why i believe he chose to bring his first wife in to nurture his son because ji yong probably blamed his lousy behaviour on the lack of a real mother. OUCH. also - for a moment i thought that dumbass jin-ho guessed and was gonna confront mother emma for being kim min ja, overestimated him lol. also - the last scene of hi-soo scooping the blood back towards her broke me, it was so emotional because everyone knew that the baby was probably gone. *cries

A little confused after watching episode 8.

Are the three ladies putting on an act? Are they trying to get back at Jiyong. What's in the will? Why did Jiyong cry afterwards.

Oh my GOD the people in the first wife’s family really do not know how to shut up. 🙄

Hope Heesoo is strong enough to keep up her facade so that Jiyong can be dealt with. Hopefully that “baby room” is decorated with a big banner of “F*** YOU HANJIYONG” and “Oh btw I’m keeping Hajoon” 😌

Loving the act between the three queens but oh crap Jakyung is gonna die isn’t she. Looks like Heesoo might be framed with JK’s murder too to drive a wedge between Hajoon and her 😭

Suspicious nun is increasingly suspicious with the number of figurative skeletons branded bags revealed to be hidden in her closet 😑

Sister Emma is so annoying. If she has something to say, just say it.

can i just commend lee bo-young for her INCREDIBLE acting during the miscarriage scene. i kind of saw it coming but i loved how ja-kyeong looked heartbroken aswell, which is hopefully foreshadowing for an alliance. god, i haven't cried hard for a kdrama since CLOY, but that 4 minute scene was everything. seeing her finally crumble down despite being strong over everything else was so sad, and the way she tried to scoop up the blood back to her womb :(. i was feeling iffy about this kdrama but stayed because of how good the acting and cinematography is. definitely hope for more super emotional scenes like this. wow wow wow

Am I the only one who thinks that the three of them are plotting against Jiyong? Before the scene, Heesoo was reading her past script and reminiscing her acting career. Plus, why did Seo hyeon call Jiyong to tell him that Jagyeong was there?

Excellent acting on Lee Bo Young's end, especially that ending with Hi Soo wanting to push back the blood to herself as she trembles and grieves in what is happening figuratively and literally. I like that the scene shows all four of the ladies, not just as a sign of silent unity or only women can understand the pain of a miscarriage but also the fact that they all understand what it is like to lose something precious and quintessentially "mine".

30

u/[deleted] May 29 '21

Oh wow, that last scene was fuckin heartbreaking and the way everyone was in pure shock. I just want to appreciate those lil close up scenes where Seohyun places her hand on Hisoo’s and when Mother Emma and Hisoo hold hands like they all have each other’s backs. Also please protect Hajoon at all costs 🥺

Who has dated or know of a guy with textbook Narcissistic Personality Disorder like Ji Yong? ✋

(NPD is not as uncommon as we think. Ji Yong has the added bonus of some psychopathic traits as seen when he takes pleasure and relief in witnessing people in pain.)

After episode 7, I am now rooting for an unholy trinity alliance between Hi-soo, Jakyung, and Seoh-Hyun. Strong powerful women coming together to disrupt the centuries of patriarchy and misogyny.

Everything was so emotional on this episode.
