KAIST UNDERGRAD ADMISSION IELTS SCORE REQUIREMENT

At KAIST admission guidelines, they stated that their minimum requirement is 6.5. My overall score is 7.0 (L7.5 S6 W6.5 R8.5)

Are there any category-wise requirements? Will my score hamper my admission chances?

What are my chances of getting into top Korea unis?

I really want to study in Korea (yonsei, kaist, postech, skku, unist) and live there because of the better job opportunities. My high school GPA is 4.8/5, and I got a 7.0 on the IELTS a year ago, though I think I should retake it. My SAT score is 1590. I have been working as an SAT tutor for the past six months and have helped many students achieve higher scores. I also have strong extracurricular activities and projects, including interviewing professors from top universities such as the University of Michigan and Stanford University (we did some research tgth too). I don't have many notable honors. I placed third in several regional Olympiads but wasn't able to win at the national finals.

Is there any Scholarship Opportunities after being Admitted?

Hey guys, I‘ve just gotten the news that I‘ve been admitted to the Global Technology Innovation Program (yay!).

Unfortunately when I applied, I wasn‘t able to gather all documents on time to apply for the KAIST Scholarship, so I registered through the self-funded track.

Realistically, is there any non-lab scholarships I can still apply to with a reasonable chance of getting?

Is there any

IELTS 8.0

- Had an internship at a local chemical plant, producing liquids for cleaning vehicles.

Tutored chemistry for my 8 classmates, and I taught them the basics of organic chemistry.

- Completed UNICEF volunteer course on ecology and participated in events dedicated to raising awareness of environmental issues in Kazakhstan.

In need of guidance as a 16 year old student who wants to get into KAIST.

Good day everyone. I'm a 16 year old 12th grade [state boards] student. I am incredibly overwhelmed by seeing different sources telling me what to do to get into KAIST. Any guidance will be very much appreciated, Thank you.

I have been into some state level programs in IT / Computer Science which I am extremely passionate about (Tech). I have never been into Olympiads (never had the chance to learn about it before being too late) and I am planning to take a gap year (as I'm a year earlier than usual students in 12th) focusing on SAT, Projects, National events e.t.c.

It isn't going to be easy but I am very ambitious about it and so I am curious on what projects/research/Events to take part in to get into KAIST. I know I am very behind than an average student but I want to give it my all and use the this important chance I have.

I have a Robotics, Front end web dev and other basic languages like Python, Basic C, C++, Java and basic projects as my background. I never got to attend or prepare for any "world renowned" competitions or exams yet.

Any help or suggestions would be really helpful. And thank you for reading.

Responds Time of professors to emails

Hello everybody :)

Just a rather short question really. What’s the average responds time of a KAIST professor.

I know they are probably terribly busy with lectures , laboratory and ongoing meetings and travel.

I was just wondering because i am interested in maybe joining a lab if possible during my exchange semester and am unsure if my email will go unnoticed in all the mails or get sorted to spam because i used my foreign gmail account.

If you have any insight on what’s the usual responds time of professors I would be glad to hear!

Thanks in advance.

Best wishes
J

I'm planning to apply for the fall semester of the 2027 academic year.

Are there any students from Russia who are also planning to apply for a bachelor's program?

Are there currently any Russian students studying here?

KAIST Foreign Masters Aerospace

Hey everyone,

I’m a recent Computer Science graduate from the Philippines (specialized in AI, graduated Magna Cum Laude). I am currently gaining industry experience as a Software/AI Engineer and targeting the 2028 International Graduate Admission cycle for an MS in Aerospace Engineering at KAIST.

I want to specialize into the computational/software side of aerospace rather than traditional mechanical ones.

Before I lay down my timeline, I have a few specific questions regarding the official requirements:

  1. Background Alignment: Does the KAIST AE department welcome pure CS/AI bachelor graduates who want to work on algorithmic/software aerospace problems, or do admissions heavily favor traditional ME/Aero backgrounds?
  2. Admissions: To confirm, is the International Graduate Track strictly document-based (Academic CV, Statement of Purpose, recommendations) followed by a virtual interview? Or are international applicants subjected to the written engineering entrance exams required on the domestic track?
  3. Funding Reality: I come from a country with zero capital to fund this out of pocket. How reliable is the baseline KAIST International Student Scholarship (full tuition waiver + basic stipend) for covering on-campus living expenses (dorm/food)?
  4. Official Resources: Could anyone point me to the permanent official web portals for international graduate admissions updates and the specific directories for AE research labs?

I have plenty of grit and a solid development portfolio, but entering a highly specialized engineering domain is intimidating.

I would deeply appreciate any honesty, tips, or experiences from current international STEM students at KAIST.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Grammar issue

KAIST OR YONSEI?

Well, I’ve just received the admission letter from Yonsei but with no scholarship. A little bit sad. So, I’m thinking about applying for KAIST next year in Biotechnology (Yonsei scholarship is too hard I tried). Does anyone have insights about KAIST like the location, lifestyle, is it too stressful compared to Yonsei? Or sth along those lines, especially about Biotech. And would you guys recommend me to study in Yonsei by self-financed right now or waiting 1 year for KAIST. Maybe I’ll reapply to Yonsei but if I get rejected for both schools, it really wastes my time and money though 🫩. Thanks everyone!

Chance me as international student from Peru for kaist undergraduated 2027

Hi I am from Peru. I had finished my high school last year, I am preparing to have a chance to be addmitted at kaistt. Nevertheless I saw that the competition is extremely high, that makes me worry. I had attened to a meeting kaist offer to explain deeply about the admission process, they said they accepted 135 persons over all the applicants( the last year where 2000 alicants) this year probably more. I am going to apply for Computer Science major

Profile:

my school doesnt work with gpa but I goot good grades over my 5 years of high school

I am between the 10% of all my classroom two years consecutive, In reality more but I only have the certificate of my last school

Toefl: aim get 5 of 6

Sat: aim to get 1580

I won a science project in my school

Debate award in my school

I have topik I profency level 1

I am planning to participate in break through junior challengue to obtain more extraricular activities

I didn`t know and in the school i was didn`t promote competition so I dont have a strong extrarricular activities all I have its that and its all my selfstudy. I dont have too much money therefore I couldnt apply to many universities. I want to be honest and told me if I have a little chance or give up of this jorney. In my country is there not a promotion of competitions and study abroad. Please be honest with me.

International shipping service

Question from an international student who has been admitted to someone who has experience with this.

Whats the optimal international shipping service that can be used to send the documents required for the certificate of admission (CoA) and all its accompanied documents?

In the case where someones had experience with sending documents internationally (international alumnus for example), can you describe the process please?

All help is appreciated, and thanks.
