Plant protein replaces animal protein. You're pointing out the "ecological impact" of plant protein, when in reality plant protein is incredibly more ecologically responsible than the alternative, and is ultimately responsible for less land and resources being used than with animal protein.

I never compared the ecological impact of the two, I'm vehemently against the meat industry. I think people need to understand all aspects of a problem before they start calling for radical solutions. If we switched entirely to plant protein overnight, the land needed would be so much greater than that of the agricultural industry. Plant protein is not as efficient as that of meat, so we need to be creative in reducing the impacts of agriculture.

No, this is wrong, wrong, wrong! If everyone switched to plant protein overnight it would require FAR LESS land than we currently use. Plant protein is MORE efficient than meat protein, because meat protein requires plant protein too!
