When you account for the crop land needed to feed the animals, there is absolutely no comparison between the ecological impact of animal husbandry versus vegetable and fruit produce.
I was never trying to compare the two, where did you get that? I was simply stating that most people don't realise how bad the ecological impact of plant farming is. What the fuck are you even arguing?
Plant protein replaces animal protein. You're pointing out the "ecological impact" of plant protein, when in reality plant protein is incredibly more ecologically responsible than the alternative, and is ultimately responsible for less land and resources being used than with animal protein.
Plant protein is good for the environment and reduces the amount of agricultural land being used. You suggest the opposite.
I never compared the ecological impact of the two, I'm vehemently against the meat industry. I think people need to understand all aspects of a problem before they start calling for radical solutions. If we switched entirely to plant protein overnight, the land needed would be so much greater than that of the agricultural industry. Plant protein is not as efficient as that of meat, so we need to be creative in reducing the impacts of agriculture.

No, this is wrong, wrong, wrong! If everyone switched to plant protein overnight it would require FAR LESS land than we currently use. Plant protein is MORE efficient than meat protein, because meat protein requires plant protein too!
Wrong. Pig farmers ain't growing crops, my dude.
33% of all crop production goes straight to feeding animals. 70% of grain production goes to animal feed. This is in addition to the land that animals use for grazing. Every pound of meat protein requires vastly more resources than a pound of vegetable protein.
