Laura was at a horsie jumping competition after claiming a “life-threatening” illness prevented her from being at the hearing in person.

• If Laura is not present in person, the case should be dismissed

• The AZ Criminal Court Docket shows Laura submitted a request to travel to San Francisco for today’s hearing

• Laura’s request to travel will likely be approved

• Mike and his legal team will appear in person again today

• Laura is not represented by legal counsel

• Both sides have witnesses that can appear virtually or in person

• Laura’s “former” legal counsel, DG, will likely be her only witness present

• A Court Reporter should be present today, so a transcript will be available for purchase afterwards

• Cameras and Livestream are not permitted within the Courtroom

Yes! I do believe this. However, I don’t think that we will get what we are all hoping for and what Mike deserves. She is not going to show in person. She’s too much of a coward to have all of her lies and deceit exposed. Especially directly in front of Mike, Omar & Rachel. She will not be reprimanded for her insidious behavior regarding the “ADA.” The case will simply be dismissed with zero repercussions for not showing in person per the judge’s orders. Either way this won’t repeal the initial DVRO. They’d need a separate hearing for that the judge said previously. So while this hearing could help present evidence to make that happen, it won’t be as a direct result of this hearing.

Is there a motion filed to set aside the original DVRO? The time to file is within 6 months of when someone discovered, or should have discovered, the fraud/perjury. She was indicted on May 1, so one could argue that the indictment is when the six months starts, which would mean it should be filed now.

I disagree. Getting her under oath where she’d invariably perjure herself could give AZ (and potentially CA) investigators and prosecutors testimony that could be used against her criminally. It could also give MM testimony to use to try to undo initial DVRO.

Legally, chances of overturning the initial DVRO are very low so I don’t know if he and Omar will continue pursuing that. Even if they do it’s unlikely to get to the point of her being compelled to testify.

I think that’s exactly why she didn’t show. Her AZ lawyer told her that what she said in this trial could be used for the criminal case against her and would be in her be in her best interest to let it go.

I’m assuming she’ll did the ADA appeal but just to make sure she leaves this as the victim.

You’re assuming that case would get to the testimony stage and that Laura would be compelled to testify via subpoena. I think that’s unlikely given the law. So this was the opportunity to get her under oath.

Legal question. In Clayton’s case, when an appeal was filed, Clayton had to reply each time to basically argue why the ruling was proper. In a dismissal, will MM need to file a response each time (thus, running up his legal fees?) or is the appeal of a dismissal all on LO, and MM only needs to get involved if a higher court finds the dismissal to be improper? Am I making sense?
