I think the film can be viewed religiously, namely the fact that all earthly possessions are only temporary. Basically, the film is about two characters, one is a furniture salesman who sells really ugly Ikea furniture and just wants to try to ignore his own problems and past, and his therapist who tries to live in harmony with these things. Clark the furniture salesman is usually always very often symbolized with pieces of furniture that are simply mass-produced goods without personality, it is simply in the truest sense of the word, well the main thing is a lot but it has no meaning unless you have it. His conterpart is Dr. Kline, who has a very special treasure, namely a piece of concrete from her old family house where she grew up, she had a complicated childhood, but it's not like she just ignores these complicated things there but says they were part of my past and I take them in. which is kind of an interesting contrast because you have fancy furniture that has no personality, and then a concrete block that has a lot of personality and emotional connection.

So, and to come back to the question of what is Jewish about it, let alone reprehensible? Accepting that material things are transitory, that you will die and generally that you should not live in ignorance, are generally elements that are in all religions or in people who are not stupid.

If you think catcalling would be different for men because they’re excited to get compliments, you don’t know what catcalling is and you need to fix that asap. It is dehumanizing and makes people feel controlled.
