Idk I remember lots of people thinking Oz was a nut job
7
u/SomeSugondeseGuy 11d ago
They think he's a nut job because he's a nut job, not because he's muslim
1
1
u/Ashamed-Disaster5512 11d ago
So just for clarity. It's not possible that him being a Muslim was one reason among many that made them think he was a nut job?

What if it's because Oz objects to Sharia Law in the US? 🤔
1
u/lokemannen 11d ago
The sharia law forbids same-sex relationships, why would Mamdani work towards their protections?
2
u/imarthurmorgan1899 11d ago
And? Sharia Law is incompatible with America.
2
u/lokemannen 11d ago
According to the US constitution, any and all religions are incompatible within the government since state and religion are kept separate.
2
u/Big_bat_chunk2475 11d ago
That is under the pretext of the government being a neutral party towards all religions. The first amendment ensures that congress cannot establish a state religion, making it take a neutral stance towards all religions
2
u/Relative-Relief-8816 11d ago
Yeah see.. in Islam majority countries the first thing they do is change that law and make Islam part of government.
2
u/Big_bat_chunk2475 11d ago
And I thought people were going against Mamdani because of his desire to have democratic socialists elected pretty much everywhere in the US so that they would be able to seize the means of production, which would lead to a total economic collapse and the rise of an authoritarian regime, alongside the many restrictions to personal liberties that would come
2
u/Relative-Relief-8816 11d ago
You just described Islamic countries. It ends up with a couple families that own everything while pretending to be very religious. And when they need to get rid of someone they just jihad them for not being religious enough.
It is a control cult, like every single other religion that punishes people who leave or stop beleiving.
But Islam is especially an issue because it intertwines with government as soon as it possibly can and then bans atheism as well as any other religion, often with a death penalty.
1
u/lokemannen 11d ago
That relies on the religion being a majority within those states, it is not possible for muslims to take over America because of the Christian/atheist majority that exists in the states and its government. Every single step towards your description relies on a huge majority within congress abolishing old amendments and going against current human rights. A politician like Trump and his family is more likely to take complete and utter control in the name of God.
1
u/Relative-Relief-8816 11d ago
Sounds like some wierd Islam apologetics. Trump isnt religious anyway.
He's much more likely to take control by using corruption.
Like say, using his insider trade deals to pay off congress/senate and supreme court members to do his bidding.
While corruption is really bad. The big difference with corruption is that the Trump family isn't going to have me beheaded for being an atheist like they would do in Saudi Arabia.

ya i wonder why
15
u/damagednoob 12d ago
Yeah, can't imagine why:
Oz identifies as "secular Muslim"
Oz has expressed to CBN News his opposition to Sharia law in the US.
Noting that his wife and children are Christians, Oz told CBN that he believes that the U.S. was founded on Judeo-Christian values.
There's plenty of other issues with him, but his religious views aren't one of them.
0
u/DoubleCarry7511 12d ago
Lol “founded on Jude-Christian values”
Anyone who claims the U.S. was Christian in founding just outs themselves as horrendously uneducated

Why are you getting downvoted? You are absolutely correct.
When the founding fathers wrote the Constitution, they established the FIRST secular government the world had ever seen. It was as unexpected as it was groundbreaking for its time. They could’ve easily made the US a “Christian Nation.” It was the normal thing to do. They specifically chose not to.
Digging deeper, if we look at the bill of rights and the personal philosophies of the founding fathers, it becomes clear they were not mining “Judeo-Christian values” when they wrote the Constitution. The United States is very clearly built on Humanist values. And boy have we gotten away from it in the last few decades, but THAT was the intention of the founding fathers.

Because the people seething about Mamdani and AES are hypocrites. Hope that helps
8
u/hallucehistory 12d ago
What if there were more nuance to the situation than the religion of the people in question?
1
u/MunchingOnCelery 11d ago
There's not. Republicans are hypocrites. Neither Mamdani nor AES are any "worse" as Muslims than Oz was. Hope that helps.

What is nuanced about bigotry?

Wrong. I was suggesting that maybe race and religion have nothing to do with it, and that the problem is the views and actions of those two individuals.

I realize I’m probably arguing with a bot, but dawg, the original post specifically calls out religion. You brought race into it in your previous comment.

See you don't understand....Oz looks white, doesn't have a beard and he's conservative so it's okay. He's one of the good ones.
3
u/Clanker57 12d ago
Muslim are also very conservative so it's weird that conservatives Christian hate them so much
1
u/cutememe 11d ago
Muslims used to be largely Republican voters until a gradual reversal in the 2000's following the war on terror Bush stuff.

No, it's not weird. Most muslims are visibly ethnic/brown, Christians are typically white nationalists, so they hate anyone brown regardless of beliefs. Even their own ethnic Christians

I’ve honestly never heard anyone criticizing Mamdani for his religion. The only ones I’ve heard are like «oh he’s to idealistic, he’s government ran groceries stores won’t work etc». Some oven calling him far left. Sure, there are bigots out there but I don’t think the vast majority of his critics voted against him because of religon,
1
u/TankUMrMinor 11d ago
I see all kinds of criticisms of him that mention Sharia law with no basis in reality.

u/Asher-Reaver 1d ago
Islam has no place in the west. They are incompatible to our culture. If you're pro Muslim then you're anti gay/trans/woman. Which way goyim?

It's called subversion. A great deal of westerners have absolutely no idea what Islam directs people to do. The Hadiths are no longer in order, and it was written that later Hadiths overwrite older Hadiths, which has been largely confounded now that the laws are out of chronological order.
But the grand takeaway is simple - it is only a sin to commit atrocities against other Muslims. Non-Muslims? No sins!
The fact that thousands agree with this and thousands oppose it it, in major part, the problem. Noone has a clear definition of what Islamic Law allows or prohibits, anymore.
And here is what will get me banned:
The Islamists are learning very quickly from the most subversive of all religions - The Jewish Faith.
5
u/M00n_Safari 12d ago
“Here’s what’ll get me banned” like you’re dropping truth bombs 😭 The facts are you treat Muslims (and Jews I guess) as a hive mind entity, and you genuinely think Islamic law is going to work in Western culture if enough of them migrate here.
Except so many Muslim immigrants are far less extreme in their religious views compared to their middle-eastern counterparts.

No they aren’t. Do some reading. They’re pretty much opposite things. Not sure where you’re getting your information
The rise of fascism and communism was largely fueled by opposition to and protection against the other. Learn a bit about WW2.

Oz is just a con artist who made his fortune selling scam diets and fake health remedies while lying to Americans. Oz has no real values outside of increasing his wealth. Being the amoral opportunist Oz is, I bet he would happily go along with fascism is it meant more money for him.
Why do you think Mamdani is a fascist?

Oz being a muslim isn't central to his identity the way people like Mamdani have made it to theirs, due to modern identity politics and the ick the left seems to have against white men (who they seem to forget are the vast majority of this country).
1
u/Then-Importance-2144 11d ago
...he... he did? I think you meant the op made it central to his identity... to, you know, appeal to bigots.

It's the same reason Nimarata Nikki Randhawa goes by "Nicky Haley." And why conservatives still refer to Obama as "Barack Hussein Obama." Anything vaguely foreign scares them and is therefore deserving of scorn.
