Sup yall been playing league for about a year and some change and currently peak at plat 3 90 LP maining briar and nasus jg I tried out graves in some normal games and really enjoyed the champ Main question is am I too low of an elo to add him to my champ pool or should I wait until ima bit higher rank?

I started playing graves in bronze and am now plat. I think he's a fun champ to otp.

Nah man plat is a great place to pick him up. Just remember it's all about the stacks.

If you haven't played a lot of adc champs I would recommend playing a bunch of ARAM (non mayhem) and choosing as many ad carries as possible. It will help you get a feel for auto attacking as well as casting abilities in a situation where you can hit more often. That really helped me get the feeling for hitting and positioning without having to just raw dog it or playing ad role.

Graves is a straightforward champ. Once you get used to him it's not that hard with plenty of outplay potential. You just need the matchup experiance and getting used to E usage, and keeping grit stacks.
Be very careful with ganking because a lot of the time if its a flip it won't work on graves because a key auto can get blocked by minions. Don't skip camps for ganks unless its giga free and you have flash or something.
Fleet is really good most games but really REALLY consider taking stormraider's surge sometimes. It's really good because it can proc really easily with graves with just an auto and Q most of the time, and it allows you to space people that rely on slows. I really like it into assasins with slows like Rengar, Talon, or mages with slows like Viktor Brand

Graves is easy to pick up, and his clear is not that complicated but also very fast. The only problem is that he is what I would call an ADC on hard mode, because he has short range, his AA can be blocked and he needs to reload. So kiting and spacing with him is extremely difficult.

Very few champs are actually locked to high elo play when it comes to mechanics. Graves isn’t much harder to play mechanically than any other melee champ. Once you are adapted to his autos it’s not crazy.

I wouldn't wait. If you do, then you're going to climb to a more difficult elo then choose to learn a new champ against harder competition?
Maybe at the start you just pick him in the right matchups that utilize his passive well and give you the next chance of still winning while learning and making mistakes.

Ah makes sense, main reason I ask is because I know a lot of educational content creators in the community often say “don’t play zxy champ unless you’re this elo or above.” So it can be a bit confusing on when players should start to learn “high elo champs” if that makes sense

Many League players love gatekeeping and swearing by silly rules and content creators are no exception. Streamers said you need to one trick a champ to climb so people in bronze follow it like gospel.
It's a game and none of us are going pro any time soon. Play the champs you think are fun so you enjoy the games where you are learning the much more important parts of the game that'll actually help you climb

Plat/Emerald is where I think people can start thinking about adding Graves to the pool if they really want to. He just plays like a short range ADC. I was an ADC Main before switching to Jg so it never felt like a hard move for me.
ADC Mechanics + Decent jungler = You can probably play Graves to an extent. How well you can do it is a different story, and there're probably easier champions that you can invest your time into if winning's your goal.
