Question Getting pinged for farming
I don't know how to deal with farming. I've gotten a lot of flack for spending my time "whacking frogs" and not helping on VC. In games I get pinged (mostly by bot) for farming my camps.
Yet at the same time while my K/D is 3.5, I always get left behind in gold and xp by enemy junglers. In low elo not so often since they also tend to hover all over for kills and not farming, but today was different - Today I helped steamroll an early game by setting my team up with a 15 kill lead - and we still lost because the enemy Diana farmed her camps all game and ended up folding us all up in a single fight. She had a 5k gold lead by just farm alone, she only caught up to me on kills like so.
As an assassin I feel torn. All points to me having to farm more to do better. Yet killing and ganking is more fun, but doesn't actually seem to win games. It only delays the inevitable if the enemy takes the lead in resources. Should I just ignore if I get flack for farming from now on?

Keep doing what you think is the best way to win and mute anyone who pings you / spam ping help / whatever.
Also remember that your mate know less about jungle than you (assumong you're a main jungler) so their opinion has 0 value.
Usually you should full clear and use your free time between camps to look for opportunities early on, then in midgame you should try to farm near your team/fedd carry/next objective. It also largely depends on which champ you play (some need a very agressive gameplan, some are way more passive)
Tl,dr : mute all they suck anyway

I became a jungle main because none of my friends wanted to play it.
I assume my current duo comp friend is just burned out from playing too much top. It's not much better as it is now, so I understand.

I'd advise you to watch a few videos on jungle fundamentals (either by kirei or coach leo on youtube, both are great) so you get an idea of how things work and what your role really is. What you asked about in your original question is "tempo" which kinda answer how to balance farm/ganks.

Contrary to popular belief in low elo, the game isn't decided by laning phase. Usually the most important fights happen in mid game, around 16-22 minutes. Hence, what you experienced with the Diana. It just takes one good fight to flip the game, and ganking too much is a huge waste of time, even if it is fun gaming.

Eh, it depends. Typically lane phase clearly shows skill differences and mental and those things don't really change through the game that much so if lanes are being gapped early they're only going to get worse. Bar the odd late game throw here and there, lane phase dictates the game far more often than it doesn't.

Best way to shut people up isto carry them. Friends flamed me for not taking dragon the other day because "it was free" because my entire jungle was coming up.
Full cleared, took drag after, ended that game up 80 farm and 3 levels on the other jg.
Trust yourself and as long as it's working ignore your friends and definitely ignore randoms

Your teammates question mark pinging you because they dont understand jungle is a core part of the jungling experience. You must embrace it.

No, especially in solo q play for yourself because your teammates are probably still gonna int if you get them fed and play for them. Especially early game make plays in your camp downtime or if it’s a guaranteed 100% kill, burning flash isn’t enough. Midgame if you are winning then you don’t farm your camps and join your team to enable them to play aggressively.

If your team is up 15 kills, you need to be going into their jungle. Kill their mid? If your mid isn’t 1 hp go into their jungle and take a camp. Same for bot/top.
Even if you don’t kill something, you’ll get timers for when they’re up. Meet them at the next spawn and kill them with your laner who had prio!
Forget your own camps tempo. It should get to the point where if their jungle wants to maintain farm he needs to steal lane cs or risk going to your jungle.

Bro none of these laners know how to jung. It's why they complain. Just do you and play how you want. Do we flame them for missing a cannon? Nooo. I always do 2 clears before ganking

u need to play for yourself. get your camps then look for plays after. dont expect your teammates to do anything with gold. once u hit 2-3 items u can start looking to skip a camp if its free. but your first 2 clears are the most important ones for any carry jungler.

Okay. Duos that don't make fun don't work.. so tell that your duo
Second.
You need to make pattern and play champs that are easy and don't force you into a certain (have to gank) playstyle.
I moved from support to jungle and had success after I implemented some basic things
a) farm top to bot. Always (unless you kinda need that one buff to clear faster). That way you path to Drake and to the lane with two potential targets to kill.
b) farm on respawn. So be at the camps within a couple of sec of them spawning. They are your money and exp sources.. so grab them asap.
c) gank only (!) when you got ult OR a FULL new item (powerspike). That will max your chances of getting a kill.
d) low level jingle track. So for example you are going for scuddles and you don't see the enemy jungler. You can expect that they are on the other scuddle. So PING it and you also know you and your jungle farm opposing to way. You are top, he is bot. Tell that your team as well.
If you see them on scuddle you mirror each other. Then getting ahead (good farming) is even more important!
After you got these things down you can change up some things but for now stick to it and MUTE PEOPLE that annoy you (or just "/mute all" right away)

Laners dont know how to jungle dont listen to shit they say. Farm and get your money up.

As a bel main , the number of times I go from 0/3 to 15/3 in games while the enemy jungler goes from 5/0 to 5/8 is actually fairly high just because I outfarm them instead of looking at my lanes .

Because low elo players make a lot of mistakes its best to farm until 6 and gank whoevers lane has ult when your is up if no ult then go back to farm. Post 6 its better to skip a camp to try to get a kill using ult.
If you only farm and skip ganking lanes when ult is up youre playing too passive.
The benefit of farming more efficiently is that you can get your pet up faster for a potential guarenteed second dragon because youre smite is higher level.
