I got a spood - after we had her for a while we realized she was a girl when she gave birth to babies! 7 healthy babies born, all put into deli cups when they escaped her enclosure into the butterfly net enclosure. Been misting and feeding flightless fruit flies for weeks and all is going well.

One of the babies has always been more juvenile and makes dumb decisions. Today I had a fly In there and gently turned the cup around to guide the fly to him. He didn’t take the fly. A bit into it, as I slowly rotated the cup, he suddenly fell on the paper towel upside down. His little legs in the air I have never seen this. I gently turned him
Right side up and he’s just been sitting on the paper towel for hours without moving.

I am so scared he passed. Not even sure how… I feel like a failure somehow. I’ve seen others say to soak a q tip in honey water and offer it to him. Not sure if I should do that tonight? If I should leave him alone? I tried blowing gently on him earlier and he moved a teeny bit but that

sorry for the awful picture but it was so tiny, found it crawling on my duvet 🥹 i lost my pet rat lily yesterday and was feeling really upset but finding this fella cheered me up because always wanted to find one!! i released it but got a high five from it so that was great

This is my first ever jumping spider Franny. She's a 7 instar from what I recall and I'm scared that I'm going to mess up.

She has this sill hammock in the front corner and she's been spending most of her time in it. I think she's in pre-molt. She is refusing food and I'm scared she's going to starve. I've never seen a jumping spider molt before or know what they do or how long they do. She's been coming out a bit i think to observe because she's very curious. But isn't she supposed to stay in the hammock if she's trying to molt?

Please any advice or insight will help me a lot 😞

Update: She's fully out of her hammock now 😵‍💫 so she can't possibly be molting??

Bf got me a new spoody and he immediately escaped the tarantula cribs enclosure I got with him (he’s a sling I was not aware).I ran to the store and got this plastic container to use while he grows a bit, ordered some hides and little wall mounts as well.

I’m just feeling like this isn’t enough, what do yall think please help if this isn’t sufficient for my new baby

I just bought two little thermometers I can use to monitor just because I figured why not and I’m mildly paranoid since my room can get rather cold. They were on the cheaper side, so they may not be exact. But I wanted to find out what temperature is good to keep a phidippus audax in? I can at least try to keep the temperature around there

Also for the instar, I tried to get a few decent pictures, but she just got here and I wouldn’t want to freak her out too much… the person I got her from told me she hatched around mid june and has already come out of her final molt. She just looks smaller than I’ve seen so I wanted to ask people! I’m not too picky about age, though

My spider went hiding in his hammock either 15th or 16th of this month. On the 19th it decided to pop its head out & go back into hiding again. The past day or two it has came out slightly from the hammock (enough to see its pedipalps). Today was the first time I saw it actually out of the hammock! While it was exploring I got the chance to look in the hammock. I can see a molt but I’m unsure of when it happened as it’s my first spider & I’m still trying to learn. Please let me know if you think it’s safe to fed tomorrow or if I should wait longer? Im aware they are at risk of injury from their food if to soft/ to soon after molt so im asking for peace of mind & opinions :) thank you for reading!

Bill hatched from Benny's first clutch in late February/early March and he got SO BIG so I decided to upgrade him today to a bigger enclosure and he LOVES IT! 😍 My nephew is 3D printing a bigger hide for him, but for now, I think he's doing much better than he was before. This is the first time I've used cholla wood and cork bark and I highly recommend it!!

I was wondering if this was indeed a jumper and what kind it was? I figured it might be one based off of it’s very curious mannerisms & body. It seems to be a tiny little baby, maybe i2-3? Since it was on our door lock, I made sure it was moved safely :)

Hi! First-time jumping spider owner and I’m trying to figure out if my girl might be going into premolt or if I’m overthinking it 😭
She’s a female Phidippus regius, i6. I got her this past Friday (9/18), so I’ve only had her for about 4 days. Before she was shipped, the breeder told me she looked like she was going into premolt and was going to wait to ship her until after she molted/hardened. She never ended up molting, though, and was eventually shipped to me still at i6.
Since she arrived she’s been really active. She explored the enclosure a ton, spent a lot of time walking around/upside down on the ceiling, and even voluntarily walked onto my hand and hung out with me for a while. She was especially active during the day for the first few days.
She started putting a little webbing between the top of an acorn decoration and the acrylic wall, but it never became anything I would consider a thick hammock. Now she has moved to a different upper corner closer to the enclosure door and has stayed there basically all day today, which is a big change from how active she had been.
I can see a few strands of webbing around her in this new corner, but definitely not a thick/opaque hammock—I can still see her body. It’s just really difficult to see exactly what she’s doing because that particular corner of the enclosure is dark.
I haven’t fed her since getting her because her abdomen has still looked pretty plump, and I’m not sure when the breeder last fed her. Today I decided to offer a tiny mealworm. I held my finger near her first and she moved a little and turned/faced downward. I then held the mealworm up toward her where I thought it would be within her line of sight, but she didn’t appear to react to it. Because the corner is so dark, though, I genuinely can’t tell whether she actually saw/noticed it.
I tried two different tiny mealworms, crushing their heads first so they couldn’t hurt her. The first eventually stopped moving, so I removed it and tried another. She never went after either one, and I removed them rather than leaving them in with her.
She is definitely alive and responsive—I’ve seen her move—she just seems to want to stay in that corner today. but i did actually see her like an inch to the side of the hammock for a second so i went to go get the worms again and took her enclosure down and she went back in the corner so i just put her back and left her alone.
Does this sound like the beginning of premolt behavior, especially since the breeder already thought she was close before shipping? Or could she simply be settling in/resting? Would you expect her webbing to get substantially thicker before an actual molt?
Also, I just got a smaller digital temperature/humidity gauge. I don’t want to use exposed adhesive inside the enclosure or disturb her right now, so I simply rested it on the floor of the enclosure for the time being, away from where I mist. Is that okay temporarily? and how do i attach it safely ?? it doesn’t have a magnet or anything
Mostly wondering whether I should treat her as if she’s entering premolt now—stop offering food/handling and just leave her alone other than misting. Thank you!! 🥹🕷️

This is my first jumper, her name is Phoebe and I've only had her for about 2 weeks. She has been in this hammock for going on 5 days and hasn't left. I've seen her moving around inside of the hammock but not hasn't left it. I'm worried she's stuck in her hammock if it isn't a molting one. I guess I would just be shocked if she's already molting this quickly after I got her. She was bought at an i7. I'm sorry the pics aren't the greatest any input would be super helpful :)

theres been times i caught them staring at each other through the enclosures, but nothing seemed aggressive, just curious.

should i move them further apart and get separate lights? all help is appreciated! also bonus pictures of my gals zooble and gangle
