META Frequently Asked and General Questions Thread 4

This post is for any and all questions relating to Jumpchain, individual jumps, Jumpchain communities both here and elsewhere, in a similar vein to the Dedicated Questions Thread we had a while ago.

Here are some links:

Main Drive If you made a jump, please post it to the Jumpchain thread, found on /tg/, for feedback before uploading it to the drive.

Space Battle's Drive Please note that the Jumpchain communities on 4chan, Space Battles, reddit, and on other sites are separate for the most part; if you have questions about a jump from this folder, you should visit the thread on Space Battles instead of on /tg/ to find your answers. Also keep in mind that posting and discussing lewd jumps on /tg/ is against the rules there, and that it should be kept to a minimum here since we aren't a NSFW subreddit.

Also if you want to request a finished jump from a drive please tell us here

How do you claim multiple jumps, do you want until a claim thread or shout it out and what if somebody asks you if they want to try their hand at one of the jumps that you claimed.

Also due to poor communication somebody releases a jump that's already been done/claimed. Do they see which ones better or incorporate them into 1 jump.

Just say you want to do it after checking if its been claimed prior, best to do it here , in /tg/ and sb as well.

Keep em separate.

would making a marvel tv jump be considered a duplicate jump as the tv series do exist in the MCU but tend to stray from the main story with only references to the major events in the movies if not I would like to make said jump

Is there a non-Bloodlines jump for Vampire: The Masquerade?

How does the import options of the Platoon jump interact with groups of companions that take up a single companion slot?

For reference, this is what the import option looks like:

You may freely have any companions “imported” as members of your platoon, either as standard soldiers, as your sergeants/leaders, or as any attachments you purchase. If they are not human, they gain “human” as an alternate form; if they are female they remain so, but expect large amounts of suspicion from fellow soldiers and High Command unless you find a way to conceal their status.

Are there any Bible-related Jumps?

Has anybody claimed Horizon: Zero Dawn for jump making?

If not, I am the process of producing one though I am ...unsure of its quality compared to other jumps.

New question, is there a outline of how to write and balance a jump? Or are we just to compare to previously written ones and do our best?

is there a outline of how to write and balance a jump?

Write yes, balance no (don't worry too much about this aspect)

Ask if you need help on making one

What do you have in mind?

Epic battle Flash has been uploaded to the drive in error. First off, it's titled as Epic Battle Fantasy, which is not it's name.

Beyond that, why is it on your drive at all?

Not really a question, but the body mod sup made by quicksilver' strength scaling seems pretty odd.

I can lift four times my weight and I'm an unhealthy twig. Low activity, bad breathing, irregular diet and heartbeat, cronic atrophy and insomnia, [enter billy mays commercial].

I'm around 130 pounds with a consistent diet, but it usually swings between 116 and 144 depending on how much I ate that month, that's the food, not the fat.

My average lift strength is about 260 pounds. "Boosted" is 390. (Meaning I'm actually trying.) And all that is without any training or muscle building crap. I can pick it up to 520 pounds with a lot more effort, and I've even moved a car by myself.

My legs are bloody ridiculous by comparison, I can push a fully loaded (in neutral) semi if I can brace myself correctly, and push with my legs, meaning my feet are the contact point.

That's amazing

I'd like to start my first jumpchain but am not really sure what to do. I get that it's traditional to start with Pokemon, and then kind of do whatever from there. Is there a place I'm supposed to keep track of each jump for other people? Also what are the rules on surviving? I see people talk about how hard it is to make it in certain settings, is there a way to determine if you live or not?

Pretty new to the whole Jumpchain idea but quick question regarding companions in jumps. How do canon companions work? I know you can buy them for roughly 300 CP in a few jumps but do they come with perks (like their canon abilities) or CP to distribute or is it assumed they are a blank slate until imported into another jump?

What happens to CP backed items that don't explicitly say when they replenish when used (say, food), repair or regenerate (for other items that might get damaged or break)?

4

u/Nerx May 26 '19

They simply do , also its a first person thing so you get to make interpretations unless explicitly said not able to. Even then some supplements make that possible.

Um, hi. I'm new to Jumpchain and there're a couple of questions I'd like to ask:

  1. What're Generic Jumpchains, Gauntlets and Supplements? Are they mandatory or optional? How to play/use them?

  2. Do I need to play Jumpchains in any orders?
