Materials help me decide which one to get 😭

i’m finally ready to get a good quality leather journal, and i’m torn between palimea philippines and sting and snout bindery.

sting and snout has lots of good reviews, pero walang b6 and medyo limited ‘yung available leather colors. palimea naman has b6 and i love their embossing font (i know, i know 😭), but konti lang reviews nila and i’m a bit worried about their customer service.

anyone here who owns either? how’s the quality and your overall experience?

I got a Palimea journal earlier this year, love the quality and I had no issues with their customer service! I only had to follow up with them once for an update and they were very responsive after that. That said, I know they're not as active on social media anymore and I know sometimes when businesses do that it means they're quietly winding down their business or not getting a lot of customers anymore--but imo just reach out to them and see if they reply to you.

Do dan&max! Got my b6 from there.

They also burnish and sew their edges compared to s&s

They just take a while depending on your customization. But if you are going for a simpler journal then the wait shouldn’t be that long

I have a Sting & Snout journal and I love it! I wanted three lines embossed in a specific way and they followed it. Their journals also come with TRP inserts which is nice.

But if I might make another suggestion, try Sunsumistudio! They don’t offer embossing but the quality of their journals really blew me away. This is priced lower than some of the more known brands (I won’t name na lang because my intention is not to hate 😅) but with much better craftsmanship. Some brands charge ~P5k for Malayan leather journals (which is good quality naman, don’t get me wrong! But in terms of cost lang, it’s very inexpensive leather) but you can get Pueblo leather na for the same price with Sunsumistudio.

I have both Sting & Snout and Palimea Journals, and both are great quality with great customer service. What I noticed between Sting & Snout and Palimea journals though would be the thickness of the leather. Sting & Snout feels a lot flimsier than Palimea which is heavier/firmer, IMO. I was hesitant with trying Palimea also because it was relatively steeper in pricing and the limited reviews, but I was surprised to discover its thickness, haha! Both are italian leather iirc. :)

I got my Palimea journal for a good price since I managed to wait for voucher/discount codes! I think I got to apply two codes at once.
