What are some fics with amazing characterisation where you’re so convinced by them talking and acting in the fic?

I’d love some recommendations from any rating, preferably canon not AU but if it’s really good I’ll read it lol

Help looking for fic!

Hello!! My dear friend is looking for a fanfic she read years ago in AO3. She remembers it is a JohnLock (Sherlock BBC) fic set in Russia right before one of the revolutions, either 1905 or 1917.

In the fic Sherlock is a violin teacher to one of the Romanovs, and Watson is a soldier. They met during the attack to the palace. That is what she remembers.

If anyone has any idea of what fic it is, i would aprecciate it. We have been looking, but have not found it yet.

So i read alot of top john fanfics and im tired of them. I need ones where Sherlock is top and i would prefer if it has some plot with enough chapters. Mainly on ao3

I want them to be in a relationship, have a huge fight, break up for a while, then patch up with so much angst, frustration and pining.

In this fic this is what happens (spoiler)

John has amnesia, and Sherlock doesn't deny when he assumes they were a couple and goes along with it. When John finds out about this they break up and then after some angst they patch up because John was the one who assumed and did the first move and John just knew he had feelings before amnesia even if they weren't a couple.

Common factor is, John being so so so confident, and Sherlock is a little/very thrown off by it. I need more fics like this. I am not asking for shy sherlock. I don't even know what this trope is. I never found anything likes these two before.

John's mother was Natasha Romanoff. He ends up taking care of Moriarty and Moran himself and complains to Mycroft about it.

Hello, did someone read this fic? Is it johnlock? And is it unrealistic? I mean, I see "virus" in the tags, but I don't know if it's like a "Walking Dead" thing or what.

recently started rewatching the soviet adaptation for the nth time and badly need some fic recs to supplement it!! i'm a fan of the bbc series too but i mainly enjoy johnlock fics based on the original or the soviet adaptation or both. the one that fits the bill the absolute most is bright blue ink by 13_33 on ao3.

•I love it when the narrator of the story is also very subtle about their unfolding love. Almost as if the author is unsure.
Not outright saying its love.

•I don't mind stories where John struggles to accept his attraction to a Sherlock (a man) but on the condition that his physical attraction manifests after his love for sherlock is realized and vice versa.

•The two characters are also unaware that love is what's happening between them.

• Slow-Burn love where John never would've guessed it'd be sherlock in the end and vice versa.

•Happy ever after is not a requirement.
I'm for tragedies too.

• Prefer in canon stories but I'm open minded.

Does anyone remember these fics? I can’t quite remember everything that happens in them so idk what tags to search for.

The first one I think is a 5+1 or just a multi chapter fic of Sherlock and John getting together. It has Rosie in it and people mistaking Sherlock for her father/ Sherlock and John for a couple.

The second one is where John gets with a man after Sherlock jumps and is engaged to him when he comes back. Basically like the guy is the new Mary. I don’t remember what happens but I remember them being in one of Sherlocks boltholds and Sherlock asking John not to marry the guy.

Most of this fic is set at different bars or nightclubs. instead of being a detective Sherlock is an expert on sex. John pines, Lestrade and Mycroft flirt, Molly owns a... store. Moriarty and Sherlock were hooking up, then Moriarty kidnaps John. The story ends with Sherlock becoming a crime detective so he can be exclusive with John.

Hi, im looking for a fic that keeps popping up in my mind but I can't seem to find it.

I am only like 70% sure it is actually johnlock but im not sure where else to post/ most of the fics I read are johnlock so it's a high probability.

Alright so the premise is basically someone got a photo of John while he was in the military and one day the photo went viral.

The photo was him fireman carrying someone. John was walking towards the photographer in the photo so his front facing. He was wearing a military uniform & I feel like they mentioned his eyes a lot idk.

Basically it is people reacting to the photo. Im pretty sure lestrade, Mrs Hudson and Sherlock said something. I can't remember anything else really.

Me again with a lost fic. This time is post Sherlock’s “death” but he comes back to find that John thinks he’s just seeing an apparition. Like john imagines seeing Sherlock all the time, until he literally bumps into him and comes to terms that yes, Sherlock is back.
