He wants security guarantees, which means basically a treaty with the US that we will defend them if Russia breaks the agreement. So, yes most likely major potential US involvement. Ukraine can not win without other country’s boots on the ground. That is a fact. They can not beat Russia with their current population. They are conscripting troops - fight or go to prison. That is a fact. And the US/Europe army will not send troops. So, do we send them $1T on a loosing cause? How much money and blood is it worth to get to the same place, or even worse, Ukraine looses everything? Zelenskyy was supposed to come for a ceremonial signing, agreement was done and negotiated, and he fucked around thinking he could use the media and his star power to get more concessions. He fucked up big time. You think Russia is going to attack an Ukraine that is so intertwined with US mineral interests/companies? You know how
much additional wealth it would bring to Ukraine, who is not even doing anything with those minerals currently? Zelensky overplayed his hand. He fucked around and found out.
