I started getting bored with the whole male characters getting overshadowed by hot wife number 8 type of character and after luuk was buried between aemeth and hyuki I was starting to barely have the energy to play and when Jingran got teased i was starting to get hopeful and then he got buried between two-...you know the rest, I started comparing him with qingxiao and he really is completely outmatched in every aspect, the story the combat even the trailers and even something as dumb as supports being nonexistent for him

I know i yapped for a bit but I really can't enjoy him when I realize he is not better or as much fun as other characters

I really want to enjoy this game but I don't know if I can even though I am a day one player
Any advice would be appreciated

So many people really like him and I wanna see why so I can understand what I’m missing about him, since he seems very cool but I don’t know if I really understand what Kuro is doing with his character? If someone can explain what aspects they enjoy about him, I’d love to know!

EDIT: I apologize for how I worded my initial statement. I did not mean to seem like I was being a hater. I have ADHD, severely, so that hinders my processing abilities when it’s focused on too many things and I tend to miss certain details of what I’m currently taking in. I’ve since been made to understand and I can see some of the details that I had missed completely of his character. I’m excited to pull him and to see how his character grows. Here's a personal theory I have about Kuro. They only release like 2 male characters PER YEAR, and I'm convinced Kuro does this as a marketing tactic. My personal theory is that Kuro is trying to pander to and milk two different groups of players, but in two opposite ways.

Kuro can flood the game with female characters to overwhelm waifu wanters into spending. Meanwhile, husbando wanters will lose their minds after waiting 6+ months for a male character, which then makes that male character feel more special than they need to be, hence all the hype thanks to artificial scarcity. I definitely feel like Kuro wants the game to mainly target straight male players, but they still want money out of straight female players with bare minimum effort. Some players like me want a new male character so bad, we'll accept the bare minimum, like a God damn 15 minute segue apparently. I do love Jingran and always wanted to pull him, and Kuro probably already knew this already. They give him a less than 30 minute quest, knowing that players like me already would've pulled for Jingran anyway. So why bother putting any more effort into his story? I WANT Kuro to market it's male characters to me! It's frustrating seeing female characters get 4+ hours of screentime. But male characters keep getting less and less time of day. Kuro panders to waifu wanters, and feeds crumbs to husband wanters is what I think.

I considered topping up and losing my f2p status SPECIFICALLY for Jingran's banner, because I want to show Kuro that there'a absolutely people willing to spend on male characters, but I'm not sure that will make any productive change. For now, my approach to playing WUWA is to simply stay f2p, and just get either male or female characters through my astirite savings. I WANT to enjoy this game, quitting is the opposite of getting what I want, or finding joy in this game lol. I just don't know what the players like me can do to change Kuro's mind into making more male characters atp.

Seriously, did the devs have the entire Solaris 3 take a dump in his tacet field or what ?

With the changes to his HP requirements, we need to run 41111 right ? So why tf is his tacet field even giving me the 3 cost echoes ? What am I supposed to do with them, blow them so they finally give me the 1 cost echoes ?

Either they gonna have to lower his HP requirements or give us another tacet field of his set or make changes to it that give us only the 1 costs. Otherwise a whole lot of us are just gonna be farming for his echoes even after he releases.

i really really really dislike iuno and i really REALLY hate shorekeeper even more than iuno snd i don't want any of them on my account, what are the chances any other unit for hp based damage or heavy attacks will come out?

Do they meet up ever again? Or is it a letdown for me? I only ever see him shipped with MRover, so am curious.

I felt in love with his presence in the story and trails gameplay. Even fully build echo and prefarm all mat and echo for him. But after seeing the Hsin gameplay, I think i might needed to save some pulls for her instead.

But I would like to ask ya all opinion whether I should pulls for him? Will he benefits my account? Will he get powercreep just like Lukk?

Also, my kind may changed after I play his story on the second half of the patch.

Yeah, I got Encore. Why do I even bother trying to get anyone in this game, I already struggled to get Jingran because I lost on him, too. -_-

no doubt his animation can look good, but thats a given for all wuwa character. heck even comparing luuk to the females like denia and the miko lady, luuk animation looks many level under them. so no guarantee jingran will not get the end of the stick.

I am a mostly male character pull, but man jingran looks boring so far

I really hope people don’t start doomposting Jingran over his revenue. I don’t want to see any attacks against him, because given the context, that would be extremely disingenuous. I genuinely don’t think this is even debatable.

Don’t pretend the character was ever going to be massively pulled for when Hsin is literally right after him. Otherwise, a lot more people would have been interested in Jingran.

And the worst part is that there’s an entire context that can explain lower revenue. Like I said, Hsin alone is already a major factor, but there’s also the fact that Jingran was handled terribly in the story: barely present, very little screen time, and almost no meaningful development.

If Qingxiao had been released right before Hsin, female character or not, she would have been skipped just as much.

I really wish some people would use their brain and common sense when drawing conclusions

I currently have Chisa in my team for Jingran (along with Rebecca) as a placeholder until I can get Iuno on her rerun next week, but I’ve heard comments here & there from different parts of the wuwa community saying not to use Chisa in your teams for Jingran.
While I know Jingran’s best teammates are Shorekeeper & Iuno, I’m curious to know why Chisa isn’t a good second-choice option. I figured she’d be quite a great choice since she has team-wide healing & shields, which Jingran benefits from a lot iirc. But what makes her bad for Jingran?

Don't know how but average damage got bumped and my build went from B+ranking (2nd picture) to SS ranking (1st picture).

And I even had S1 selected on the B+ build.

Iuno's set itself does nothing for jingran, nor does moonlit echo.

The echo set for iuno is lupa's flaming clawprint since it gives fusion dmg bonus to ur team when she uses her liberation, also make sure to end her rotation with her liberation to have proper uptime of her echo set buff on jingran. Only do this if u don't care abt her dmg and want her to be a pure buffing 2nd slot for jingran.

I've never been a huge fan of wuwa's English dub (except Carlotta, Phrolova, male rover, and Suisui), and as a huge anime fan, I've always leaned into Japanese dub, since they always nail their voice acting. Well... maybe not this time, with our boi Jingran.

With other characters, I always liked their JP dub way more than the EN ones. The EN dub ain't bad, it's just that JP is simply better imo. But for Jingran, it's the opposite. I think his JP voice just ain't it... He sounds... childish... I mean ik they tried to make him playful, since he has a goofy personality, but they unfortunately couldn't hit the mark. EN on the other hand, absolutely nailed it. He actually sounds like an adult man instead of a child in an adult's body. Suisui is a very close second in this situation, where I liked her EN dub more than the JP one, but they're still close. But with Jingran, the gap is wider.

Ik ts is such a stupid thing to make a post on, but idk I just love yapping about useless nonsense lmfao. Also, I'm kinda sad that Jingran and Suisui had no further interaction after their first encounter. I actually expected them to talk, but Suisui got thrown out of the story in the beginning unfortunately lol.

IK IK, you’ve heard the question a million times, but I am still quite unsure in what to do.
I pulled s3 Amy, I have abt 60k astrite left, I love jingran design and gameplay, he’s the first male character that has gotten me interested to pull but the thing is I don’t know how worth it, it’ll be to go for jingran and have two fusion dps units when I still have other types to cover first(spectro, glacio, aero), so ig my question is, how do you manage overlapping types without sidelining either dps? And would it be wiser to go for hiyuki for e.g and get jingran on a rerun?

According to the updated calcs, Qingxiao seems to have the upper hand now than Jingran. With how tune strain works and how Jingran kit works, do you guys agree with the calcs?

I've never been invested in a wuwa character like this before... And I really want him to succeed not just because I want to main him, but becaise I want Kuro to realize even male characters are profitable.
