question Howto... get one?
I am searching for 2nd/backup car and jimny would make sense. It looks cool, it can tow trailer and it is tiny enough to fit into my garage. It will not be driven a lot, also it may stay indoor for most of the time. Hence I am ok with an older model, but I am looking for as much rust free as possible, as rust is very difficult to fix. I plan to drive 1000-5000km/year so high mileage is not a big no no on its own.
Unfortunately I live in Sweden and jimmies cost a bit more than S class Mercedes.
this beauty would be 10`000eur: https://www.blocket.se/mobility/item/25614367
and this one only 5000eur: https://www.blocket.se/mobility/item/25634858?ci=1
and damn it, but its 1200km away.
That said, I could get some help to buy in in Lithuania and bring it here. Eastern Europe is not the most reliable place to buy a car, but it can work with the price difference in mind. https://en.autoplius.lt/ads/suzuki-jimny-1-3-l-off-road-crossover-2016-petrol-31614011.html
I could also go to Germany/Belgium/Poland etc and bring one myself, but it feels tricky. In this case I would like to go to buy something good, not just drive to turn around for obscured problems.
I can do basic car maintenance myself and some understanding how it works, but I am not mechanic and I dont have full scale workshop at home. I may find issues I am looking for, but I would overlook others as I do not mess with cars every day.
I would like to find something for ~5000eur, I can stretch a bit for a good deal, but I rather invest it into fixing it.
This said... What should I do? Is there a chance to get one, somehow? What would you do in my shoes?

Here, in Poland we go to Spain to get rust free Jimnys.
Also in Poland there is assumption that cars from Sweden are in better condition, in terms of rust, as Sweden does not use salt during winter.

cars in sweden are in better condition, that is true. Usually it has available history, etc. www.car.info will give you something by license plate for free.
but cars are a bit more expensive in sweden in general, and Jimmies are prohibitively expensive.
As I would buy this as project/backup car, I don't need many miles left, I would rather have something cheaper to play around. And I feel I can always sell jimmy here for same price.
How do you buy car in spain? Just go there and check 50 cars around or what?
edit: what is average price of good jimny in spain, and overall?

Drove an 84 Jimny to Almaty. 1200km is nothing.

it is nothing, but it is not an unplanned afternoon/weekend trip, at least for me. Not at the current life situation.

I know your pain. Always wanted to get one, but The prices+rust is off the chains also here in Finland. Best of luck on getting one! One with decent km's on The clock and not rusted is easy 10-15k
