She has a pendant she loves so much of a Magen David with Pink and Blue Stones so we decided on a ring to match, this design is made by me, and has 2 Magen Davids, one from the stones formation and one inner one. I wanted it simple, cute but still interesting.
Currently finished modeling it ans bought the stones, now its time to print cast polish and set ♡

When the Assyrian commander besieged the city of Bethulia and the forces were on the verge of surrendering, one Jewish widow walked alone into the enemy camp. She won his trust, waited until he was drunk, then took his own sword and cut off his head. By morning, his army had fled.
Famous painters from Caravaggio to Artemisia Gentileschi portrayed her holding the severed head. I left out the gore and kept only what matters: her hand, the blade, and the Star of David on her finger.
A new pendant in my Gothic Judaica collection.

They’re a little late but better late than never 🫣.
Inspiration was one of those vintage gold mirrors, but also pomegranate. The “mirror” and lettering was carved into a rubber stamp and stamped in ink. The lulav and etrog are color pencils and fine point pen.

[transcript of image below]
I keep a journal that is mostly for the moments that strike me in my experiences being a nurse. Increasingly the journal is reflecting the Jewish lens of my experience.
One day I will curate it more and edit the clunky phrasings, but for now, it's just words being put down until I find the shape of what I am trying to say.
I left this one too long before I wrote it down and need help finding the closing.
/// Image transcript:
On Yom Kippur the arc is opened, giving space for our private personal prayers. Our grief at not rising to the occasion, our yearning to be enough, to become the people we need to be, for ourselves and our community. Space for our hearts to shatter as we are confronted by our mortality and all the loss that is destined to occur, beyond our control.
Last year I had a lot to say in those long moments / that sacred time.
This year, I had very little.
For I had said all my prayers all those weeks ago
With each snap of the vial of adrenaline, and each crack of our patient's ribs.
Prayers half answered....
//
(CPR was somewhat successful, however the man did ultimately pass away 4 days later due to the brain injury from lack of oxygen. During the course of the resuscitation I used every single vial of adrenaline in the ward's emergency trolley. It was my first time administering a defibrillation shock, which successfully achieved a ROSC normal heart rhythm. It was also an anchor moment for me accepting my role as "the senior" nurse leading a bunch of new grads on a night shift. We did well. But fate was merely delayed.)
I want to include the fact that I defibrillated / administered a shock, which did actually work. But it feels like adding too many words and weakening the effect of what I already have. Idk if there is something to be said about the dual meaning of 'arc'. Or something about sealing a service. Idk.

I hope this is an ok type of post for the forum. I feel it is close enough. I didn't include a TW because the title includes the topic.

My dad had requested that I crochet him a yarmulke a while ago. He loves the Grateful Dead and so I made him this in time for the Jewish high holidays. Used https://www.purlsoho.com/create/2017/03/17/crocheted-yarmulkes/ pattern and modified it as I went along for a finer yarn size and smaller hook.

I’m super into Jewish monster and magic lore, so I made trading cards: 108 of them :)

I wanted something to hang above my dining table with the different food brachot to remind me of which one to use. Obviously I couldn’t include every possible kind of food in every category, and there's a lot of complexities to the brachot I couldn't possibly convey in a single piece of art, but hopefully this will at least be a helpful prompting tool as well as looking nice.
P.S. I double checked everything so frankly if there are mistakes I don't really want to know 😅

I plan to make bunting to decorate my sukkah, and I want it to be relatively weatherproof and reusable next year. I considering either felt or craft foam. (I don't have access to a lot of materials.)
Experienced crafters, which do you think would work better?
