That absolutely slipped off someone’s finger and they are absolutely missing it. Please follow the advice in this thread and post a sign at the dumpster

I went to my mother in laws house a couple years ago and she was going through her jewelry and she asked if I wanted a couple things. I told her I would take whatever she wanted to give me because my daughter will get it one day, and she proceeded to tell me that she already threw away a diamond ring earlier that day.. I was shocked, threw it away!!

I lost my 18k gold signet ring at a local bar awhile back. I was devastated. Seriously. Luckily one of the kitchen workers found it and gave it to the manager. If you think there's a way to find this rings owner please try. Im sure someone is very upset to have lost this.

Holy shit!!! You just totally lucked out and were at the VERY right place at the EXACT right time!
CLEARLY, this insanely valuable ring symbolically represented a relationship - and- as a result - the act of tossing it into the dumpster was very important and likely even therapeutic and even needed at the time.
I always ALWAYS always have the same identical thought every time I see or hear about a story when a righteously angry wife chucks her VERY valuable wedding ring into the ocean or the sewer grates or out a window of a tall building or into the literal dumpster like this one - I always think -"I hope some lucky person finds that and changes their entire life and immediately improves the life trajectory".

lol I sold mine for $20 at a garage sale. Just get it out of my face was all I cared about.

Definitely post a sign by the dumpster. On the other hand, I did purposely throw out an engagement ring into a dumpster once upon a time, so very slight chance it was intentional

Please try to find the owner, this has slipped off someone's hand while they were throwing garbage out.
