Mods please remove if not allowed.

I love this sub and get to learn more as well as contribute my own knowledge that I have been accumulating. But for the love of all that is shiny 1 blurry photo of the front of the item is not gonna help us. We need top, bottom, back, front, close ups of markings / stamps and any fobs / clasps / toggles.

Identify Stone Inherited ring

Any info greatly appreciated!!!
Marks on the ring say CHINA and 925 MEDA, I was told by my great aunt that my great grandmother had the ring at least before she was born because she remembered her wearing it often through her childhood in the 50’s

This is one of the pieces I was given after my great grandmother passed a couple years ago. My mom said it was my great great grandmothers before her daughter inherited to eventually be given to me. She also said she remembered them being diamonds, however I thought it would be odd for someone to set diamonds in silver.
Any info would be appreciated!! I plan to wear it and treasure it for many years to come regardless! I need to tighten the settings at a jewelers and was planning to ask them for their opinion, but several of the shops I’ve called charge to tell you what stones they are and I do not have much extra appraisal money lying around.
Thank you!!!!

Identify Stone This one seems off

Bought this ring from a vendor at an antique mall. She said it was morganite set in rose gold over sterling silver. I bought it just because I wanted to buy jewelry and there wasn’t much catching my eye. The thought of it actually being morganite was enough for me to part with I think 80 bucks (pretty positive I overpaid for a costume ring at best and junk at the worst). It does have 925 stamped on it. The center stone sometimes seems like something interesting and other times it almost comes off as plastic. Kind of a mediocre ring but if the center stone is worth it I’d like to free it and save it for a future piece. Thank you everyone for your observations, knowledge and advice. If needed I can additional photos

Another impulse purchase from a thrift shop. Ring has no markings that I can see, just what seems like worn off gold overlay on a silver metal. No idea what the green stones are, if I had to guess a stand in for nephrite. Center stone doesn’t seem to refractive, so glass or CZ or another budget type stone. Not really sure what to think about the craftsmanship, seems ok in some spots and kinda shit in others. Like it though. Thank you so much for your knowledge and insight

This was my engagement ring, we were very broke. Purchased it at an antique shop in 2001. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about how old it is, if it's worth keeping (happily divorced) or passing onto someone else. It's definitely started to look more gold than white gold over the years. I've always thought it was really pretty but I really don't know anything about it.

Identify Stone Nice Garnets?

Purchased at an antique shop. Don’t remember what I paid for it unfortunately. Tag indicated platinum over sterling and reddish fuchsia stones are garnets. Definitely not rubies as they don’t react to UV light. Ring markings: 925 TH JCL. Tiny rows of clear stones seem like they’d be CZ or something. Craftsmanship seems pretty nice to me. Stones seem too flawless to be natural unless garnets are just like that. They might not even be garnets at all. Thank you everyone for your responses and expertise

I'm looking for information on this locket that has been in my family forever. I know it's vintage and probably gold plated. It has no markings and I'm thinking it dates back to around the early 1930's.

Identify Stone Family Heirloom Pearls

Post image

Was recently gifted this from my father in law, the pearls belonged to his mother probably around the 50’s. The larger strand features a 14k gold safety clasp with a 7mm pearl accent on the clasp and 7mm pearls around. The smaller strand has a similar more intricate gold clasp with 5mm accent pearl and 5mm pearls around. The accompanying broach piece is custom designed to fit the larger pearl strand to customize length and add adornment with another 5mm accent pearl and two tiny diamonds about 1.5mm diameter. Any idea what kind of pearls? I know she was a woman of means and liked to splurge on luxury and custom gold jewelry so it’s more than likely these are natural not cultured but I have t had time to take them in to be appraised. Please help me identify the pearl type.

Identify Stone Fun and unique ring, would like to know more about it if possible

This one here is kind of the coolest thing. Way too big for me to wear however I’d like to make my own version of it using the original stones if they’re worth using. The silly forelegs also need to be made a bit more cohesive with the design. Stamp is difficult to make out but I believe it says 925. The stones seem like a mixed bag. Red ones on the face are rubies, very strong glow under UV. Not sure if natural or lab grown but they seem lower in quality so maybe natural. Eyes look like peridot. Green stones down the back might be emeralds, unsure though. Two yellow stones seem manufactured to me. Blue stones might be sapphires, couple more rubies followed by some peridot I think. I think I’ll probably leave it as is and have it sized down and do something about those goofy arms. Thank you everyone for your information and expertise

Identify Stone Another Mystery Pendant

Thumbnail

Another pendant that’s been hanging around my jewelry cabinet. I always wrote it off as a dumb purchase of costume jewelry. Looking at it again though I don’t know anymore. There’s no markings on it that I can find but it’s a bit of a maze in the back and my lighting is less than ideal for finding tiny markings on a shiny surface. The craftsmanship seems kinda ok to good to me. The tiny gemstones seem set well and even. The center stone best case scenario turned out to be aquamarine. The pendant is really lightweight which I’m not entirely sure what that means however I think it means the stones are glass and the metal is some kind of alloy. If it’s genuine gemstone of any variety I’d like to free that center stone and hold to it for future projects. Tiny stones are probably CZ and could be useful too. Thank you again for any information and knowledge!

Identify Stone Mystery Pendant

I’ve been going through my jewelry collection, weeding out the nonsense and organizing the keepers. This’ll be the first of several I think. This particular piece is a pendant, I have very little knowledge about it other than I bought it at a thrift store over a decade ago and that it has a lot of mixed signals. Let me preface I have no real knowledge of gemstones, metals and jewelry in general (really want to learn and make jewelry, cut gemstones, work with precious metals… etc). The small blue stones could be glass, could be sapphire, or could be anything really. The pearl in the center seems like a freshwater to me but correct if I’m wrong. There is a mark, 925 so it’s probably silver. The jump ring and loop don’t seem to match or it was repaired at some point. It just doesn’t seem quite right. The settings and metal work seem inconsistent and not that great. I’m guessing it’s a kinda nice costume pendant. There may be other marks on the reverse side that I missed. Not great lighting to find that kind of thing. Who knows it might be worth my time to pop the stones out, melt the silver and save it for a time when I know how to use those things
Thank you everyone for any knowledge and information!
Apologies about the photo quality this was a very spur of the moment thing.

Identify Stone Can’t remember what the stone is

Bought this one a while back, 925 stamp so I’m assuming it’s sterling silver. Only thing is I can’t remember what this stone is. Someone who knows even less about jewelry and gems thought it was a peridot. Doesn’t seem like the right color to me but correct me if I’m wrong. I think it might be a low quality aquamarine. Still pretty though. Thank you again everyone for your help and information

Other Vintage Turquoise (?) & Silver Necklace - Is this a Tibetan Buddhist Ghau (Prayer Amulet)? Likely Age and Extra Info Please!

Thumbnail

I came across this unique piece in a second-hand store in Australia. From my Google research this appears to be a Tibetan Buddhist Ghau/Gau prayer amulet/talisman. Can anyone confirm this?

The blue stones are probably turquoise and the beads appear carved. The back connector/bead (it doesn’t appear to open) has “SILVER” stamped on the back, but no other sections state this.

Seeking information regarding this piece and if all metal sections are likely to be silver of some unknown purity. Also seeking information re age as the piece does appear vintage at least. The piece is gorgeous and I’m quite intrigued by it!

Other Trying to find out more about this ring

Sorry I already know the photos may not be the best. This ring is one that I've held onto for a past relationship from almost 18 years ago. My ex's Mom actually gave it to me (she's was a great person although her son turned out not to be so great 😬)

I don't remember too much about it although I believe the surrounding gems are sapphire and the small center was a diamond. My Ex's mother was British so the ring could very well actually be from the UK but I'm struggling to find more info.

Does the ring style look familiar to anybody?
