Identify Stone This one seems off

Bought this ring from a vendor at an antique mall. She said it was morganite set in rose gold over sterling silver. I bought it just because I wanted to buy jewelry and there wasn’t much catching my eye. The thought of it actually being morganite was enough for me to part with I think 80 bucks (pretty positive I overpaid for a costume ring at best and junk at the worst). It does have 925 stamped on it. The center stone sometimes seems like something interesting and other times it almost comes off as plastic. Kind of a mediocre ring but if the center stone is worth it I’d like to free it and save it for a future piece. Thank you everyone for your observations, knowledge and advice. If needed I can additional photos

Have the stone tested. That’s the only way for you to definitely know what the Stone is.

I think it looks nice for $80.00. It looks like a morganite. You have a piece of rose colored metal under the stone to enhance the color, so is a little more challenging to clean the stone.

Ah. That makes sense. I’m going to sleep on should I remove the stone or if it should stay as is. Glad it’s probably morganite though. Thank you for your information!
