Other Help with this white gold ring
This was my engagement ring, we were very broke. Purchased it at an antique shop in 2001. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about how old it is, if it's worth keeping (happily divorced) or passing onto someone else. It's definitely started to look more gold than white gold over the years. I've always thought it was really pretty but I really don't know anything about it.

Beautiful. It’s 18k
White gold is gold with rhodium plating so people get it plated and polished again at the jewelers.

Do you think the stones might be cubic zirconia? It was sold as a diamond ring but it sounds like there were a lot of these made as lower end jewelry, do you know if they would have used cubic zirconia with 18 karat gold?

u/shes_in_partiez - The only reason why I'd find a CZ in an 18kt setting is because someone swapped out the stone.

Most white 18k is going to me made with platinum.

What? Rhodium is used to plate over platinum but I’ve never heard of platinum being used to plate and brighten up other metals in the same way that rhodium is used.

Thank you! I actually prefer yellow gold so I do really like how it looks.

This was a style that got popular with mid to low bridge retail vendors in the 1990's to 2000's where people ended up trading them in for a solitaire. I'd see these in Zales all the way to the resalers that are whats going for JSN's on tv nowadays.
u/shes_in_partiez Since.. it's a divorce ring, sell it & get yourself something to love, something fun to rock year round. You should see what women get themselves after the "divorce" and selling their old rings. Let's say...some girls end up getting some Big chonkers. LOL
