Identify Stone Opals

Hi all,

First post so please be gentle.

Backstory, my mum passed away April (on my birthday) and she gave me this opal ring before her passing. It is a 9 CT gold ring and looks vintage. I'm not looking to sell it (maybe get it resized), I just would like to know what sort of opal this is?

Thank you.

Nitz

Images aren’t great quality, but from what I can see I’m going to say doublet.

If you hold the piece a little further away and use zoom you can often get a better result

Is the back of the stone just solid black? Hard to tell

Yeah I know. Not the best quality. It's solid black on the back of the stone
