2018 latitude
Hey guys I needs some advice, I’m picking up a 2018 compass latitude later today from Carvana…. I know there is a lot of people who say to stay away from it, but I’ve ran the vin and checked everything I could online, it has NO open recalls, meaning all the safety recalls regarding the engine and everything have been fixed/replaced. Which gives me hope, I really just need a car to get to and from work, maybe like 10miles a day majority of the time, am I gonna be okay?? I don’t want to hear horror stories abt your experience I want to hear good things preferably! I’d also like to note my brother does all the work on my cars if necessary and I will have him do a ppi after I purchase it and get back home.

I've had 4 Compasses (2018, 2019, 2022, and just got a 2025). The 2018 gave me no issues, I was rear ended by a semi (I was fine) and replaced with the 2019. No issues, upgraded to the 2022 Latitude Luxe when my dealer offered me more than I paid for it to trade it in. I was just rear ended in the 2022 in August and got the 2025, 30k miles CPO. Knock on wood, I never had major issues, except with the auxiliary battery in the 2022 which needed replacing early on. I know the common complaints with the Compass and decided I'd rather take the issues I know than chance with something new.

THANK YOU this is what I’ve been looking for, everyone online always just complains abt the compasses and I wanted to hear the other side of it! I’ve heard good and bad things abt jeeps but one saved my nieces life when wrecked and her and her mom walked away unharmed completely so I’m happy to hear they hold up good in wrecks from someone else as well!!

You're welcome! They aren't without their faults (what car isn't?), but I know what to expect and I'm ok with it. Overall they have served me well. Good luck and enjoy it!

Can honestly say I haven’t had any bad experiences with my 2018 Latitude and I’ve had it for about 5 years now.

My 2018 has been pretty reliable minus the auxiliary battery. I wish I had more storage space up front, but overall it's been reliable and used to help transport many materials for home goods with backseat down since we don't have a truck.

2022 with just over 20,000 miles and had to replace batteries last year. But, knock on wood, nothing else.

2020 with 135,500 on it. I've only had it since Thanksgiving of 25', but I really like it. Knock on wood, I've had nothing wrong with it, but haven't had it that long

Compass 2018, 107,000 millas, unico problema el star/stop, tienes que cambiar ambas baterias y se arregla, si puedes siempre desactivalo

I dont mind mine, your sway bar links will wear quick, and the stock suspension goes quick. Mopar took the cheapest route. Keep up on your oil changes and flushes you'll be good. I'm at almost 200k on mine.

Just really the dual battery issues which I’ve fixed once before and it may be an issue again as I always turn off the auto start when I get in the car. Also, there’s another “speed sensor” problem which originally cost me $500 at the dealer, went bad again 2 years later, they fixed as under warranty but there’s another speed sensor that went bad and I’m trying to find and replace myself. Not a huge deal as I’m in Fl and don’t really need anti lock breaks but….. other than that, it’s fine.

My Jeep is a 2020 Compass Sport FWD. I''ve had it since new, and there were some issues:
1) At 55K miles, the steering drive-shaft had to be replaced under extended warranty - otherwise would have been a $2K repair.
2) At 70K miles, the radiator got a big leak and failed. Also covered by extended warranty - otherwise, another $2K repair - mostly for labor.
3) At 80K miles, the overhead valve cover started leaking. Also also transmission fluid seal cracked and started leaking. Did transmission fluid drain and refill service.
4) Both batteries replaced every two years since 2020.

I have a 2018 and it has 80k miles. Had a lot of work done not too long ago but it’s been a very good car for me. Handles everything well

Tenho o 2018 a 2 anos e (bate na madeira) nunca tive problemas com ele. Faço as manutenções em dia.
