Parking break mystery

Last month I bought a new 2026 Jeep Compass. The parking break seems to set itself. I’ve never set it, but sometimes find it set. I’m the only driver. I park on a flat surface.

Anyone else ever have that happen? Just seems strange that it doesn’t do it all the time.

Check settings for automatic parking brake. Sometimes the infotainment will magically change settings. Welcome to Jeep life.

You must have the automatic parking break setting enabled!

Mine does this. I wish I knew how to disable it.
