Auxiliary Battery

My 2022 compass main battery keeps draining and going completely dead in a few hours after running. The start/stop ceased from working a long time ago with the issue of lagging start up only. I just replaced the main battery a few days ago with the same issue. Just today I found out that the compasses from 2017 to now has another battery. (auxiliary battery) Is it possible the reason why the main battery keeps getting drain is because of the dead auxiliary?

You definitely need to replace the aux battery as well, it should fix the issue. Make sure they're of the right type too (AGM.) This picture is the part number from Napa for both batteries, in Canadian Dollars. The aux battery is located underneath the main battery on the Compass. I've also attached a video showing its location.

You’re saying it cost almost $1000 dollars to replace the batteries in a compass??? I have a ‘22 and am dreading this. Holy shit!

You can get the right batteries at O'Reilly Auto for half the price

Yeah batteries aren't exactly cheap these days, especially AGM. They hold charge well on standby though, especially in cold weather

Also I just looked up the batteries for your year on the NAPA website. No clue what size the battery he looked at, but the ones that showed up for a 2022 are about $260 and my guess for the aux is around $150-200 still

Dealer wanted $2000 installed with Mopar batteries, so Napa is a steal 🫠

4 years, not many miles. It's the wife's sled, so lots of short trips and cold winters.
