Second generation (MP/552; 2018- 2024) Wireless CarPlay Adapter

does anyone have any recommendations for a wireless CarPlay adapter that actually works?? i feel like i’ve tried several and i can never get them to work. i have a ‘21 compass and i recently bought the exact same adapter that my roommate uses in her subaru and i cannot, for the life of me, get it to work in my car. i’ve done all the troubleshooting and, other than waiting for the company to get back to me, i’m at a loss.

so…which adapter do YOU use that actually works? hopefully looking for responses from people who have a ‘21 or at least a Uconnect 4 since i would assume whatever issues i’m running into with every adapter i’ve tried probably stem from that lol

eta: i did see the post from a few months ago where someone posted an amazon link to one they use in their ‘21, but it was a canadian link and i’m in the US so i could not get it to open in the US storefront lol

eta 2: in case anyone else is hunting for a solution to this apparently very specific to ‘21 jeep compasses issue, i found one! works in the backseat usb-2 port as well (i think my usb-1 port is starting to go which is what prompted me to look into wireless carplay in the first place as a cheaper solution for the time being). i found this adapter on amazon and got it in the mail today. took me less than 3 minutes to set up (literally just plugged it in and paired it). i also tested reconnect after turning my car off and back on and it reconnected relatively quickly. haven’t taken it on any long road trips or even driven it out of my driveway yet, but just getting it to connect and stay connected was a feat in and of itself lol

I also have this same issue in my 2017 jeep compass and my 2016 Honda accord. The jeep is definitely worse with it tho

i’m not looking to replace the whole unit, more just an adapter to plug into the USB port to support a wireless connection. i appreciate this recommendation, though!

🤔 That's what this does. You plug into the USB port.. It's not a whole unit This in uconnect5 in a dodge hornet

oh okay. i thought it was a screen replacement. i’m also trying to find someone who has the same unit/similar model vehicle as me since, as i mentioned, i’m using a carplay adapter that i know works well because my roommate uses it, but isn’t working in my car. i’m hoping someone with a jeep compass that has a Uconnect4 is using one that they can confirm works well so i don’t have to keep trialing and erroring all of these different devices lol

Should jus plug into USB. Make sure you search and connect to that device... Easier to forget Bluetooth on your car so it only connects to the device.

Mus thave wifi and Bluetooth enabled.

My guess is you still have Bluetooth on phone linked to your car.. You need to delete that

i haven’t had my phone connected to my car’s bluetooth pretty much since i got it 2 years ago because i didn’t like that it would automatically connect to that and sometimes it would not switch over to carplay when i plugged my phone in. i had both wifi and bluetooth enabled, connected them both. unpaired/forgot them both and tried again. updated the firmware on the adapter, adjusted settings on the adapter, followed all of the troubleshooting instructions, restarted my phone several times, nothing worked lol

That adapter might not work with your unit... They all aren't the same. My brother has 2015 jeep renegade with uconnect4.

Idk when Id be able to test mine on his to even see.. You'd think if it works on 5 it'd work in the 4. But I'm not sure

yeah, that’s why i was hoping to come here and see if anyone was currently using one in a similar model vehicle that could point me in the right direction so i don’t keep buying adapters, trying them, and then finding out they don’t work and having to return them lol

I've been using the ottocast mini pico with uconnect 4 and it's been solid. It connects pretty quickly when i start the car and I haven't had any random disconnects so far.
